I'm trying to make sure I have the latest/greatest version of Compu Live installed on my computer. I'm confused by the options offered on the Elation web site.

The software I purchased, which came with the USB-to-DMX converter, installs as Elation Compu 2006. When I open the program, the splash screen says "Nov 4 2008". This is also what I see when I go into the "About..." menu.

Now, when I go to the Elation Web Site for Compu Live, in the right-hand column there are a number of different downloads. Which one should I install? It seems like "Compu Live Software Update - Sept 29 2009 (zip)" is what I want... but do I also need to install the Sept 2009 Compu Magic 3D?

Yes sept 29 2009 is the one you want. No you don't need to install magic 3D. It installs as part of the compu live program. Hope this answers all your questions.

do we move the ssh file to the desk top before we download the newest version??

Will that protect our old scenes and etc?

Yes, of course. you may not need to backup but it is always better too just in case.

The latest version of the COMPU LIVE software is actually the Sept 29, 2009 version which could be found on our Elation website. Here is the link to download it.

As long as it is 32 Bit it should be fine...
