Hello

Just got my midicon yesterday and hooked it up today, and the problems start:

Upon adding midi con cpompu-live software locked up when opened.

Restarted, and then found software update, updated to newest download June 2010 Compu-live.

Updated software and now when I open Elation 2006, instead start-up window as normal it is Sunlite Suite! Also the program bar at top has this name as well.

To make things better, everything is in french! What the hell is going on here?

To top it off, there is no midicon profile anywhere, or an image setup in the console folder, or ANY support for getting the midicon to work with compu-live. The manual it was sent with even says there is no support, but I was told it supported this program.

I really expected after waiting this long to get this piece of equipment the least you guys could have done is made a way for it to be used...

Hey Anthony. Thanks for letting us know about your issues. Let me check this out and I'll get back to you most likely no later than Tuesday afternoon. Sorry your having trouble.
Also where the French text of langue is click on that and select English. Also what model interface of our compu live range do you have?
Sincerely,

Hey James

In the language selector, English is selected, even though everything is in french.

Says Copmu Club 04 on side, but have been using with 06 for many years through the upgrades no problems.

Also the box is still working fine, it is the program that is bugging out.

Also where is the support for midicon?

Ok. Does the June 2010 software still detect your compu 04 interface?

Ok good it still detects the 04 hardware. I had though the midi con will work and save triggers on the unit however we do not have a midi map file for midi con. And I have been speaking with a developer of ours and I am not sure if they can make one for it. But like I said let me look into this in depth and test with my midi con and June 2010 install and I'll get back to you early next week when I know something.

Side note: have you checked out our new compu show software? It's the next generation compu software. There is a beta for download on the compu cue product page.

So midicon is advertised to work with compu...and it doesn't, why does this not surprise me?

What is difference between compu live, show and cue? There are no program specs on web pages. Will they all work with my current dongle? Do these programs work with midicon?

One more thing, with the current compu-live software boot up, English is not even an option...

This is with no midicon hooked up, as since there is no layout for it I figured keep it out of the problem loop until the software is working.

I downloaded compu-show just trying to kill downtime at a show. It does not recognize this dmx box.

It does have a midicon console, but things do not move if I move them on the hardware, so I have a feeling they are not linking up.

Beta compu-show wont boot, start up window comes up and nothing ever happens after that. If I unplug the midicon then it will boot fast like normal.

I am really bummed on this one, I actually had a night to sit and learn on this thing, and I can even use it...seem kinda a backwards way to release a product to me.

Try this latest release of compu show beta, OCT 28th 2010.

Also sounds like the June 9th 2010 of compu live had a bad install. Make sure your removing the .exe from the zip file then launching the installer. So back up your show files and fixture profiles, uninstall and delete the software and then reinstall. That should fix up some of the issues your having. Let me know.

Uninstalled the program, re download June link. Installed. Application still opens as Sunlite Suite, not Elation or CompuLive. I now could put it in English. In changing starting parameters I was able to get it out of beginner mode.

So I do not understand why it is downloading from your site and booting as another program.

Downloaded new link for CompuShow, still does not reconise dongle. Also, if midicon is plugged when CompuShow is booted, it wont boot until midicon is unplugged. The program also doesn't respond to midicon when console is open showing midicon picture.

Ya i'm sorry I forgot to mention. The compu show software will only recognize the new interfaces ( Compu Cue Basic, Compu Cue, Compu show SD and Compu Show SD+). So to use Compu show with lights you will need one of these interfaces. I know it may seem unfair to require new interfaces but the new software has many new features that needed new hardware to support it. Also the popularity of 64 bit operating systems also played a part in the decision to make new interfaces. I have yet to hear back from my development team about using midi con with compu live. And I will also check about your issues with compu live program. Thanks.
