Is it possiable to have the lamps in my DS250s turn off with the disconnect of DMX?

you know i flipped through the manual and i don;t see that as a feature. sounds like it would be a kind of an odd feature too. jingles.

I was just curious, it would be nice to have a way to automaticly shut them off just in case someone forgets.

This feature would actually upset many customers.
It could ruin a show. If the lamps shut off they take 5-10 minutes to restrike.
In an installation stand point, It is recommended that the Electricians install power switches to easily turn these units on and off when they are done using them.

So is it OK then to turn off power to the units without first turning off the lamp and allowing it to cool? I know this is an issue with our video projectors, but I wasn't sure about these lights.

Yes, from what I understand your fixtures are permanantly installed.
This means that your not transporting the fixtures.
They cool down just fine as soon as the fixture is shut off.
For transportation purposes its better to shut the lamp off and let it cool before you move the light.
