I have an Elation ProColor that is not responding to DMX signals. When I turn it on, the lamp fires up, and the shutter wheel and Color wheel auto adjust. I am pretty sure its not my dmx controller as it worked great with many other fixtures I worked on today. The only theory I have is that this fixture was sent off to be cleaned and when they put it back together they plugged the DMX connector into the wrong three pin slot on the Board. There are 4 spots where this 3 pin plug could possibly go. There are 3 setup vertically and then 1 to the right of the bottom connector. So they are making an "L" I already tried plugging it into all 4 slots and still it did not respond to DMX signals. Any thoughts?

White, Feel free to call them. 1-866-245-6726 The forum is more of a discussion area for tips and tricks, its not an official Elation support platform and thus you may not get an immediate response. if something is urgent please use the 800 number and give them a call. they are available 8-4:30pm pacific time. hello White, sorry for the delay. it sounds like a bad dmx driver. the driver is located on the main pcb. you can call support to order one # z-75184. Best Regards, Gines Gines Elation service manager

Is that the kind of part that requires soldering it onto the board?
|
no, its socketed on.click on the link below. if you look to the left you will see a small 8 leg driver, thats the one. http://parts.elationlighting.c...Line=PROTRON%20COLOR Best Regards, Gines Gines Elation service manager

ahhh this is a very early unit. unfortunately we no longer have parts for this unit. however look on that pcb for the dmx driver. its the same type. look at the top of the ic. it may say 76184 of 75 186. Best Regards, Gines Gines Elation service manager

Here is the chip I don't see those numbers on it. Is it possible to replace the PCB board with one of the newer models? or will that not work?
