Just learned about turning off the lamps with some DS250 fixtures I installed. Is there any way to turn off the fans or do they just run 24/7?
In an installation, should we be flipping the breaker each service to prevent early death of the fan motor? yea, sounds like no harm leaving the fans on 24/7 but also no problem in turning off at the breaker when not being used.
And no chance of loosing the DMX address when powered down Sunday to Sunday. thnx Multitude Audio & Video Magnolia Music Center - A.V.I.S. division Gulfport, MS - Ocean Springs, MS - Pascagoula, MS http://www.AudioVideoInstallService.com http://www.MagnoliaMusicCenter.com |

Hi Rain,
Yes.. you want to make sure you power down either by breaker or power switch when the fixtures are no longer in use. You can turn on the fixtures a few hours before service then strike on the lamps a few minutes before service. But do not leave the fixtures on 24/7 as this will kill you fan life. Hope this helps.. The lamp on by DMX feature is installed because in many installations the lighting guy has no control of who and when someone turns on the lights.. and I've seen fixtures and lamps on at 8:am on a tues or weds morning.. Assuming it will be safe (and suggested) that he does this to all of this lights. (turning them off at the breaker after each service)

Yes, the whole lighting rig should be on dedicated breakers. seperate from any sound or airconditioning.

And it is on both our installations.
I'll just make that standard procedure that the breakers be turned off after service. Thanks again Rain Multitude Audio & Video Magnolia Music Center - A.V.I.S. division Gulfport, MS - Ocean Springs, MS - Pascagoula, MS http://www.AudioVideoInstallService.com http://www.MagnoliaMusicCenter.com |

Yeah this is something my church did not take into consideration. The lights were already there when I got there so the setup is very "buggy" We don't have any intelligent lights, just conventional so it is not a huge problem.
