I am having problems with the power spot 700 CMY fixture on our Jands vista T2. Our problem lies in the intensity. It does not go all the way off when told to do so, now on the dmx traits the numbers are correct 0-3 is 0% intensity, it is at 3 so that should be no problem. Where or how is hte best way to alter those attributes.
We just got a new patch from Jands for the power spot, and everything seems to work ok but we cannot douse, or turn the fixture all the way of or that matter

Hawk.. Hi Hawk.. I didn't see this post either.
So are you saying that when the value is 0 you still get some light output?

could it be the fixture needs to be calibrated?
Do you have more than one fixture?
Are they all doing the same thing?
Did this just start happening?

Any info would help?

we only have one.. and the value of the dmx showing on our board when the intensity should be at 0%.. is at a value of 3. In reading the manual it should still register as it being off until it reaches a value of 4, or am i misunderstanding the system, everything else on the fixture seems to be working just fine, the gobos don't entirely match up, but that could and probably is an issue with our board manufacturer Jands Vista.

We have had nothing but problems with our elation fixtures on the jands vista, the people at jands have been working hard at getting us new patches to try and fix some of the problems. We have one power spot 700 ( soon to have more, as long as we can get it to work). 2 design spot 575E (one broken, does its own thing, after resets and all) and 5 design washes that seem to work just the way they should with the correct patch.

going back to the 700 though. One more note, we hooked it up to a manual board to test all the channels individually, and the intensity worked fine then, and about 95% of the values we tested seemed to work just fine.(testing everything from pan, tilt, to strobe, and color mixing). We wanted to make 100% sure before we put the fixture up in our auditorium. We have yet to have a fully functional elation fixture. So i don't know if there needs to be better communication between jands and elation, but seeing as how these fixtures have a lot to offer, it would be a shame for a whole demographic of users (IE:Jands Vista Users). If i can help in any way moving that along ill certainly do my best.
thanks i hope that answered some of the questions, and probably raised some more.

Hawk.. all good stuff.

Many people use our products with Jands consoles without problems but the Vista is a new console, and i'm not sure how many issues they may be finding considering its based on a PC version of the programs.
I will test our 700 with our console here and see if that's the case. If it is, then maybe our manual may be off by a value or 2.
Are you currently working with a dealer?
Where are you located?
Best regards,

im a lighting director at my church willow creek. I work at the north shore campus, and have been a part of all the installs for all our new intelligent light fixtures. I do not work for the dealer, although that would be quite amazing, i am merely a message boy, trying to get the right information.

thanks for giving that a shot, let me know if you find something that could be off, and if so, please feel free to contact me by email since i do not always have time to get to a computer.
