I spent today programming scenses for 4 plat 5rs using the 17 channel profil on the product page. I'm trying to get the color scroll to snap to the next color instead of scroll but can't get it to respond. There is a button in the profile labels color snap yet it does not seem to function. Also is there a gobo snap?

Do you have another platinum spot scene playing when you try to change colors? Give me some more details as far as what is going on on the fixture page when you try to do this.
Sincerely,

I'm simply programming the scenes by setting positions, gobos, colors...I click the snap color for each scene I create.

you don't really need to click the color snap button. the wheel should snap by default as that channel will have a dmx output of 0. Verify the channel value for the color snap and split channel and let me know.

The dmx values for the 17 channel profile seem to be correct. Is there a setting on the fixture to set the mode? I see where there are 15 channel and 24 channel modes.

ok I confirmed that the fixtures are set to the standard mode, which should be the 17 channel profile. The values of the profile for the snap feature seem to be correct. But I still can't get the fixtures to snap to color or gobo.

So you can verify that channel 17 is not set too dmx value 30-39?
I am really not sure. I won't be in front of a 5R until maybe sometime next week.
Maybe send me your show file and I'll take a look.

Looking at the profile, channel 17 is 0-19 for color snap, 20 to 29 for split colors, and 30 to 39 for color gobo any.

If I want the color to "snap" from white to yellow, I need to hit the snap button( 0-19) in my software program right?

Yes it should. How exactly are you programming scenes? Do you start from the fixture page or creating empty scenes and then using the scene editor to adjust the dmx channels?

Using Lumidesk, I patch my fixtures, then start building the scene.

Ok well I don't use lumidesk as it is not an elation product so I cant help you with that program. I can say the ssl profile I made for the platinum
Spot 5R is a good working profile. Perhaps you need to contact the makers of lumidesk for some support? I'm not sure.

yeah I understand that. When you get a chance to test that feature LIVE, please do. And I'll see what I come up with doing more testing, maybe with a hardware controller.

Ok. Someone in our service dept will test probably Monday. Also but if channel 17 is at dmx value of 0 the colors and gobo's should all snap.
