I'm a new dealership with Elation but I did have the opportunity to install both white and black DS250 lights within a few days of each other.

I've put in a week's worth of installation time in the past 4 days so my memory is not at its best right now.

But, the black fixtures had a set of locks on them. One lock stopped rotation of the yolk.
The 2nd lock stopped rotation of the light.

The white 250s that I got today do not have this feature.

And I'd swear that the LCD display is different too. As I scrolled thru the menus on the Black one, words were spelled out completely and easy to read. On the white ones they are abbreviated. (fwiw, my moving head DLED36 fixtures have the same software/LCD screen)

Any insight?

The black ones are the Design Spot 250 "Pro". It adds a few more features. There is about $300 dollars difference between the 2 models.

Hi rain,

We actuall have 3 models of this light.

Desing Spot 250
Desing Spot 250 Pro
Desing Spot 250 WH

It looks like you have the Design Spot 250 Pro and Design Spot 250 WH.

The 250WH is just like the regular 250.

But the 250 Pro offers pan and tilt lock, LCD display, replaceable color wheel more output. Its also a bit more expensive.

Best regards,

AH!

Didn't realize we had a difference in the models going on there. Thanks for the 411 on that!

This is only our 2nd order so I'm still learning the product line. Shame my rep. doesn't live closer!
(and I do need to talk to ya John - let me know the best way to contact you)
Thanks
Rain
