I just bought 4 Design Spot 250's from GC. One of the fixture has a severe mechanical problem that makes a grinding sound when it is tilting. From what I can see there is a thin metal disc with slots on the outer edges that is grinding. I don't want to work on it since it is brand new and I figure guitar center will replace it.

On one of my other DS250's I notice that when I use the strobe function on all of the them and then return it to full open it doesn't quite get back to open unless I grab the dimmer fadeer and drop it to 0 and then push it back to full open. At that point it is again as bright as the other fixtures but I am sure this is abnormal behavior. I have reset it a few times and it still continues to do the same thing. That being said I am pretty good with my hands and have fixed many a electronic device. Since I am going to own these and plan on making money off of them I would like to know how to work on them without sending them back everytime something happens. Any suggestions I should mechanically check on the dimmer?

I have done a bit more testing and I can confirm that the shutter intermittently doesn't open and close as the others. I have verified this by looking into the optical lens during operation and it gets stuck.
