Is it possible to still get the original Pro FS 1000 with the dimmer. The lack of dimmer on the new version renders it useless as a spotlight (IMHO). I don't see any facility for blacking out the new version (which must be interesting on the 575 arc version).

Not quite. The new ones 'blackout' by closing the iris all the way (correct me if I am wrong though, John or jingles or anyone else from Elation). An iris lever and a fade-out lever would be nice though...
