I recently bought the Stage Pack 1, consisting of the Stage Setter 8 and two DP-415s. I used it at a wedding last week, but only as a dimmer. I'm using sound activated, analog lights. I'm a tad confused. Do I need to be using DMX lights in order to be able to use the pre-programmed chases or to design my own, or can I do it with my: 2 Martin Raptors; ADJ strobe, 2 ADJ sound-activated effect lights and Pars? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pre-programmed chases and sound activation are on the dimmer pack itself and don't need DMX. For addition control, you can run DMX to the dimmers and then control them with your Stage Setter 8. This will allow you to control lights individually and make your own, costume chases stored in the Stage Setter 8.
