Using an Eliminator Instigator 2.0 with an Elation console

Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to DMX and I've got a few questions..

I own the Elation "DMX Programmer" a small 64DMX channel board. Up until now, I have been using the consol to just run chases with a few floor pars. (Even though I talked to American DJ and they said It wouldn't control floor pars. Eeker) Anyway, I am looking into getting one intelligent light. (I don't have lots of money, and this is just for a "lighting lab" in my basement) I was planning on just getting a small intelligent mirror fixture. Will the Eliminator Instigator 2.0 work with my board? The description for the DMX Programmer said it would only control American DJ and Elation fixtures.....Shouldn't any console be able to control almost any type of light?

This light has 6DMX channels, and my board can handle up to 8 DMX channels per fixture..

Here's my setup: From my console, I have DMX running to an ELIMINATOR 4 channel dimmer box. My dimmer has DMX out, so can I go out of the dimmer into the intelligent fixture? Then throw a terminator on the output of the intelligent fixture?

I've said a lot here, but I want to be clear. I'm thinking, this fixture should work, I'm already using an eliminator dimmer. Am I right?

Here's the link to the fixture:

Anyone ever used the Instigator 2.0? Is it any good?

Thanks Smiler

Cool ok: If you don't mind, let me pick your brain a bit more;

Since I have such a small snake (Just dimmer and one intelligent fixture), do I really need a terminator to put in the intelligent fixture?

Also, this may sound dumb, but can I use an audio cable to go between the dimmer and the intelligent fixture? (since the distance between the dimmer and the intelligent light is about 10ft.)

Question number 1: Yes it is recommended.

Question number 2: Always use a DMX cable when using a DMX controller. Mic cable is NOT up to standards to properly relay DMX data packets.

Make sense? Let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer.
