As a new member to the Forum and a Newbie to the lighting scene, I would like to ask the members a question. I recently had the chance to pick up 2 Elation T16F light packs, with foot controllers, which will be used for a small Blues act. Is there any way to use these units with a light console as opposed to using the foot switches. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It appears your answer would be YES, you can use a DMX controller(console), but PLEASE read the manual and get familiar with it, because it was a bit confusing and make sure your controller supports the channels you need to use.

You'd be better off with a DP-DMX20L.

From the manual: "DMX mode Be sure the Linkup selector is in "Slave" position. Connect this unit with
a DMX controller, this unit will be controlled by the DMX controller. DMX
value 0-9 of DMX channel 1 activates Stand By, DMX value 10-249
leads to any of 7 scenes or 17 chase patterns. When the DMX value of
channel 1 is among 250-255, this unit will act as a 4 channel dimmer
pack and the start channel is the 2nd DMX channel."

Many thanks for the information on the T16F packs. Can you please tell me if I can use these packs with my Stage Setter 8 console, and if so, how would I hook these up. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

I'm the software guy so i really don't know. i really didn't help you all i did was give you information that was already in the manual. Your best bet would be to call our Tech support hep line and ask them. The number is listed on the elation homepage under contact us.
