Hi.. I purchased a Elation DMX Recorder 512 and have installed it into a museum exhibit. I have an arcade style button wired into the terminal block's play selection and it works. If someone presses teh button, it plays the sequence that we setup... only problem is that no matter what mode the recorder is in, the sequence loops. How do we make playback do "one shot" instead of looping. There has to be a way, right?
Note... i have the same issue if i just use the play button on the device itself, so i know this isn't an issue with the external button trigger. thanks. |

For that i would really call our tech support hotline or dig through the user manual one more time. But it seems to me that there needs to be a blackout trigger to happen in order for that scene to stop looping. Sincerely,

karma,
are you using the DR-512? If so, there is a setting in the menu where it asks if you wish the show to loop or not. By defualt it is set to loop. Best regards, John J Lopez Elation Professional |

Thanks - I am using the DR 512, but i don't see that option in the menu... The only menu that i see is the setup menu described in this pdf:
http://www.elationlighting.com/pdffiles/dr-512_dpr-1_setup_menu.pdf Is there another menu or settings area? The manual was kind of sparse on details like this |

the link you sent me is only for SMTPE.. you will want to download the user manual.. its the link above this one.

Yeah, i've got that manual too... but the one I sent you outlines the only "settings" type of menu in the device that I can find.
The closest things I see to anything about the show looping or not is the stuff about the Startup and shutdown sequences... But it is a bit vague and confusing on that point. Do i need to take the sequence that I recorded and rename it "shutdown" or something to make it stop after 1 play? Which mode should I keep the device in to make that work? Sorry... I've been banging my head on this problem for awhile and it seems like there should be a simple setting like you mention, i just can't find it |

Ok.. just found out.. it will always loop. So.. you somehow have to get Stop to activate once the show is over. John J Lopez Elation Professional |

Thanks... Yeah, I called the support line. I think we're going to try to pick up a DMX controlled relay switch and add a call to it at the end of our dmx sequence... then wire the switch into the stop on the terminal block. We think it will work, but I'm looking for the right relay to use.
