I have an Elation Co-piliot II and looking to get a DMX controller specifically the Elation SHOW-DESIGNER-1 DMX Lighting Controller LATION Show Designer.

Many questions but mainly:

-Is this a good combo?

-Do I really need the co-pilot to be part of the set up with the DMX controller?

-Is there a better option for a DMX controller compared to the Elation SHOW-DESIGNER-1 DMX for the money of what I'm thinking to buy?

Thank you!
Edwin

With lighting controllers their is no good combo, generally it is because the best combo is to only use 1 controller to control your entire lighting system.
When you don't have 1 controller to run your whole system then you need multiple controllers.
Once get a DMX controller the concept is that you will no longer need or use light copilot.
Everything will be DMX and you will use DMX cable to link it.
But that means you will also need some DMX packs.
Your light copilot is 8 channels sp you will need 2 packs.
They are 4ch each.
Least expensive one is by American dj. I don't know model #
Good luck

John,

Really appreciate the quick response. Funny you mention American DJ because the reason for my DMX controller question is because I'm looking to buy two sets of American DJ Quad Gem DMX Sys 4X Moonflower Effect Light System. Meaning for a total of 8 Quad Gems.

So unless I misunderstood one controller will be able to cover 8?

Thanks again.
Edwin
