Octopod 30 and dmx?

I have an Octopod 30 system that I'm trying to control with a DMX 192 controller
I have the Pixel drive set to dmx mode (A001)
and the fixture control mode set to 8 (6 channel)
the pods are set from 1 to 8
All I get is random flashing and colors
I have A pretty extensive light show and want the pods to surround a drum kit
But so far I cannot control them
Any idea's what I could be doing wrong
Thanks
Tim

Finally figured it out I think
The unit has a blown resistor on the voltage regulator
Anyone happen to know what the value of this resistor is?
Thanks
Tim

If you take it out or at least get a good look at the resistor, it has a series of colors on the resister that will tell you the values. The color of the resistor itself will also yield additional information.

That is all I know. I see them in blue and a brown/cream color mainly. Using the colors, you should be able to find some sort of site on the internet to tell you the values. This site may help:

Resistor Color Bands

Hopefully this is of assistance for you. Usually these are super cheap and often readily available. Only bad thing is sometimes you have to buy a bunch of them. Oh well, having spares is good.

Still looking for a solution
I've swapped out all the IC chips but one
The Amtel 542 24C01A P127 chip which I have on order
I've hooked up a resistor subbox to the voltage regulator and tried out many different values which seems to have no effect on the output
still don't know what the value of the resistor is
Anyone?

Mainboard swap out?

Is the unit at least powering up?

Maybe it's the power transformer. Maybe your cable, but I bet you checked that out already.

Something could have gone through a defective transformer and took out the entire mainboard.

I'd say it might be easier to have just sent it in.
