I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the expected lamp life is for the UV Wash unit. I've had my unit for a couple of years, but I only rarely use it (mostly around Halloween). Anyway, I needed to check something under a blacklight the other day, and the lamp suddenly died! I was really surprised and a little disappointed--I can't have gotten more than 36 hours of use total out of the lamp mine shipped with. And yet, the lamps are almost 1/3 of the cost of the whole unit. If that's the kinda life span I can expect from these things, I'm not sure it's worth it to replace it :-( Anyone else have any experience with these?

hi Batty, THE UV LAMP is rated at 1000 hours.
if the unit is "jolted" or handled in a rough manner the fluorscent tubing can come loose from the socket base (creates a vacuum leak). give us a call at 323-213-4593 and we can see how we can help.

I do try to be quite careful with it. I definitely haven't jostled the unit around. In fact, I don't think I've really moved the thing at all since it's last use around 8 months ago. Thanks for the contact info. I guess I'll be giving you guys a call.
