I am a one man band managing a small christian TV station. We are putting together a very small set in a renovated 30x40 building. Recently bought a Stage setter 8 and 2 OPDM-20's DMX dimmer paks as I thought this would be a good starting point. However, we can't seem to get fader control operating. All channels and lights work on bumpers and full on, but nothing on the faders. I've got 4-par 64's and 2-par 56's hooked up to individual channels. Have reset board several times, I'm at a loss, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help,

Joe

Hi Joe,
This is a common question I wish we had a sticky option on this forum.
You have to have the 1 x 16 mode selected, then make sure that both your masters are set to 10.
one is up one is down.
Also one DP DMX 20L must have address display of 001, and the other one must have an address display of 005.

Thank you for your response. I double checked my settings and the first Optima OPDM-20 pak was addressed 001 the 2nd OPDM-20 pak was 005 as you said.

in the 2x8 & 8x8 mode I can bump each channel and get a light, but in the 1x16 mode I get nothing.
I suspect a problem with my board since you confirmed the settings I already had in place which seemed the logical choice. I thought it a pretty basic question but did not see anything specifically regarding the Optima OPDM-20 paks.

I am already considering upgrading our board. does the Stage Setter 24 truly offer 24 individual channels like the setter 8 is suppose to offer 8?

Any other suggestions on the dimmer 8 issue is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help,

Joe

The Stage Setter 8 has a fade time in 1x16 mode, which is adjusted using the Y crossfader. To reset the fade time go back to 1x6 and grab the Y crossfader and bring it down then up. The display should read NFD if done correctly.
