Hello

Bought some Stage Color LED 64s and afer a few hours of use one is malfuntioning. I plug it in hook it to DMX. Bring light up (on) and after a minute or 2 light shuts off all together. Then after a few more minutes it turns itself back on and everything is fine. At least until it turns off agian. And so on... This happens in stand alone and DMX modes.

Any ideas of what might be going on here?
Tranformer maybe?

I have tried to rattle the light or jiggle the wireing to see if it is a loose something or other but does not seem to effect it. Fuse has been changed.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi John and welcome to the forums.

It might be something like a bad solder joint. The unit heats up a bit and the solder melts a little causing the power to stop flowing. The fixture cools down, solder solidifies again and problem goes away. Has happen to me a few times in the past. Yesterday for example, my boss re-wired some Opti Tri Pars with 3 pin in and out. Well, cold solder joint and the one unit started acting up. Hopefully he won't do it again now and just leave them as 5 pin like I told him to do in the first place. Bosses always know better .

At any rate, I would call service on Monday. Since it is a brand new unit right out of the box, the dealer you got it from might be able to have an advanced replacement shipped out right away.

Ya unfortunatly it is not quite right out of the box. Has run around in storage bays for a few miles and used for a couple of show. I think I turned in the warranty stuff so hopefully it is in effect.
