E Spot or Platinum 5R?

I want to upgrade my fixtures, and I'm on the fence for the 5R or the E Spot. The E spot is the Elation version of the ADJ Vizi Spot, but the output is more and a few other features like focus.

My question is what is the rated output of the LED for the E spot? (I've heard different numbers in the you tube videos I've seen) for a few hundred dollars more, is the 5R the better buy in terms of output and features?

I will have someone post about the output for the e spot. I do have one and can say it pretty bright almost brighter than a 150 watt discharge.
But with the platinum 5R you get more colors I believe and a variable frost. Way more gobo's. Slightly larger beam angle. Iris, etc. The features between the two are really not all that comparable. 5R has more features. E spot is good on power draw and brightness for what it does.

Well I sprang for 2 5rs. This is my first Elation product to own. I've been a big Martin fan for a long time, but there is a bit of a price difference.

First one out of the box had a rotating gobo sensor error. So Elation is shipping me a replacement and a call tag.

I've got bridal shows this Sunday, so that will be their first time in action. Just at the booth to demonstrate our totem lighting setups.

I will proably order 2 more 5r's by mid february.

Casey brings up a good point about checking out new items as soon as possible.

In-box fatailties are becoming far too common-place these days. As consumers, we gotta be a bit more pro-active these days.

Hope all things go well at the bridal show for you. I'm steering clear of that market, no money iin it, too much grief, or at least that is how they are around here. But, I'm targetting concerts and event promoters anyways.

Due to high call and volumes, calls are most often returned on a fee basis these days.

Just got the replacement fixture in. While the rotating gobos function properly....I noticed the stationary gobos wobbling. After doing a pan and tilt...I heard some rattling. I open up the top, and two screws and spacers had come off of the stationary gobo motor. Nice job Elation.
