I set my lights up for the first time yesterday and everything worked fine for a couple of minutes. I was going through the manual and pushing buttons and all of a sudden the faders don't work. Blackout, bump and full on are the only things that work right. This is in 2x8 or 8x8 modes. Nothing really works in 1x16 mode. If I put a fader all the way up with the X,Y, and masters all the way up, the light will go up about 25% after about a minute. Everything is delayed for about a minute and I get nothing close to full on from the fader, only from the bump or full on button.

Could I have inadvertinately programmed in something that will not allow the fader to work in real time? How do I re-initialize the system?

I'm going to program some midi sequneces next to see what that will do.

Pease help.

I'll jump in on this one.

You have changed the scene fade time.

Set the console to 1x16 mode then slide the Y fader to the top, the display will read "nfd" (no fade delay). You can then go back to the other modes and the instant control should be back.

Thanks dj, that did the trick. How do I keep from doing that or something like that in the middle of a show? Is that a trick of being in 1x16 mode or are there things like that that happen in the other modes? Is there a more detailed manual that tells you these things or do you have to figure these things out by trial and error?

I hooked up my keyboard and did the midi programming dance and everything works as advertised. Hooray. I'm doing a one man show so this is where I'll be most of the time for starters, but I do want to branch out and use this as much as I can.

Thanks, TGG

As far as I know you can only change the fade time in 1x16 mode.

Good Luck

I seem to have another problem with the stage setter 8 - in 2x8 mode my guitarist who just bought this unit and lights and dimmerpacks claims that the 8 sliders in the x-scene controled each light separately - i can only get the first four sliders to work but they work on both sides (we have 4 lites on left and 4 on right) instead of 1 to four working lites on left and 5 to 8 working lites on right any help on this and i was wondering if it possible we could get the dvd to help us (mostly me) get our act together? Thanx for this forum - i found what i was looking for really fast
