I'm new to DMX controllers and programing so I have a few I have a few questions. I have two Octopod 80s and I picked up a Chauvet Obey 4 DMX controller and I can't get the pods to respond to it. Any ideas or suggestions?

Do you have the controller box for the octopods? Do you know how to address a dmx fixture? You should take a look at our dmx 101 PDF available to download for free I'm the dmx 101 section on the product page of our website.

Yes, I do have the controller box. The manual for the DMX controller only talks about setting DIPS for the address... the pods don't have dips as I'm sure your aware. What puzzles me is that the pod's manual says that they auto detect a DMX signal so I can program them. But I don't think they are. Either that or I'm missing something... I'll also read over the DMX 101 guide. That looks helpful. Thanks Smiler

Half way in I have learned that I need a terminator... AND that the controller only has 4 channels. The pods need AT LEAST 6... bah... Thanks for the info though! Looks like I need to spend more money. XD

Once you get a bigger controller post back and let me know what you got and I'll be more than happy to help you set up the octopod 80's.

my dmx has a MSRP of $399.95 so you should definitely be able to find it even new for less than that.
