In the near future I will be working with a local mall updating the the light show programs on their ice rink. They have 20 technobeams, rgb neon in the ceiling cove around the rink, and some other scrolling color fixtures that shine down on to the ice. They use Compu Live to control all of this lighting in addition to some of the recessed cans in the vicintiy of the rink....I am not sure who did the original programs, but the compu live screen is literally full of scenes, switches, and a few shows. I do feel that a majority of my efforts will be spent on cleaning/organizing the countless buttons, creating some new scenes and switches, and breathing new life into the old ones.
Although I do have some surface familiarity of the application, it is basic at best. I do feel that I can learn Compulive, I just need some advice on where to begin.
This would not be my first time working with Compulive at this ice rink. This past Christmas I created a couple of switches to set the Tbeams to some holiday gobos to display onm the ice.
Anyway I do have a few questions that will help me get started:
1. Is there a way to back up the ice palace programs before I begin meddling? That way if I mess up something...I can revert back to what it was before.
2. Is there a such thing as a Compu Live training video that goes over basic and advanced programming techniques? "Compu live for Dummies"?
3. (more specific to this venue) When you start the Compu live application, it automatically begins running a show. How can I find out what show is set to run when it starts? This so that I can change it once I have made some new programs.
4. Talking about the show and the time...Is the time spent on each scene/switch changable? Like is there a show modify button or "right click" where I can change the duration of the scenes, etc?
5. Talking about the show time.....is it real time or relative time? Ie...real time start this at 3:00 and end at 3:15......relative time start...do this for 15 minutes, after that do this for five....etc?
