Jingles can most certainly answer your questions better than I can, but I think I can help you with a few questions so you can get started. I'm not an expert. Just a guy on the street.
1. Absolutely. That is part of the beauty of this program. Just select "Controller" up at the top left. Then select "Save Show As".
The program will default you inside the SL2006 folder. But I like to save them to another folder outside of the program.
You can also use your shows in multiple computers. You could install this program to your home computer, create a show at home, and then put it on a zip drive. Then just take what you created to the mall.

3. I don't know the answer to that one. I always just remembered what I was opening. "Save As" always covers your rear.
4. Select the scene that you wish to edit. Then go up to "Button". Select "Edit". Then you can edit the scene from there.
5. I don't know that one. I'll defer that to Jingles.
