Design Spot 250 P Lamp off and fan functions

So I just triggered a lamp off command via dmx to a design spot 250 pro.

I was surprised to see that the fans immediately shut down as well. I left the unit there still powered and the fans then kicked back on after about 30 seconds, ran for a few seconds shut off. same thing another minute goes by they then turn back on and shut off.

I'm assuming there turning on as they temperature in the head hits a threshold and then turn off at another set point.

However, I find it really strange to have the fixture do this. Why not have the fans run for a solid 5 minutes after a lamp off command so that we can cool the fixture down much faster rather then now having to wait for it to hit its high limit threshold .... cool down a little bit then wait for more heat to build in the head etc etc...

the process now takes 15 minutes when we could simply run the fans for 5 minutes straight....

am i missing something here? please clarify..
