RS232 Problem

Received the Show Designer 3 console a few weeks back and decided to use the serial port for transferring fixture profiles ect... When we go into the SD Monitor program and click Com 2 we receive this error - Run-time error '8020' Error reading comm device. We have tried both comm and no success. And yes we have changed our RS232 adapters comm to match the program.

Any help?
