Usb Interface

im having trouble connecting my usb interface to my desktop and laptop. the compu live program installed perfectly and i was also able to transfer my lightshow file over but cant get the interface to work. on my old computer as soon as i plugged the dmx interface into the usb port an automatically opened the install box an ask to click to install. but with these 2 computers, it says install unnamed software, an when i click install it says cannot be found? i wonder if there is something i can reformat or something? on the pc compu live disk has where you can check to see if the usb ports or compatible an it says everything checked out fine.
