Re: Elation stage setter 8

First question, did you ruin the controller. The answer is no. If anything, you ruined the power supply, but that is also doubtful. You are talking 6 watts vs 3 watts, which is not a lot of power. Second question, just plug and play. You said they have been doing it for a while now, so I am sure you are still fine. After that, I think all your other questions are answered. Must components are capable of handling sightly dynamic loads. For example, almost everything can work on a load from...

Thanks for the info. I am looking to add some wash fixtures to my new stage. Re: design 108

Doubtful. If the Impression run about 180w worth of LEDs can go color for color to a 575w discharge, I think the DLED108 will edge out over a 250w discharge. 250/575=.43; 108/180=.6. I know the math isn't as simple as that thanks to differences in the color temperatures of the discharge lamps, but it gets the general idea across. The DLED108 in theory will be about 20% brighter color for color over the 250w. Things to remember about the higher color temperature of the 250w lamp is that it...

Re: Stagesetter 8 problem, help plz

Couple things to try. First, did you check you dimmer for that channel? Maybe the dimmer just tripped or the fuse blew and you need to reset it or replace it. Next, did you check the lamps? It is possible that all the lamps on that channel blew out. Also, when a lamp blows out, sometimes it will take the fuse or trip the breaker on the dimmer. Lastly, have you tried anything else in that channel? Try moving the DMX addresses around so another set of lights comes up on that channel. If...

Re: Stage setter 8 & DMX LED panels

Hi Mike, The stage setter 8 is a straight forward controller channels 1-8 or channels 1-6 consecutivly. So the controller will always give you the same results. I think the best thing for you would be to contact Chauvet and see whats up with the Color Pallette.. It has some pretty complex channel assignments, and if you address them to 1 for simplicity sake they should do the same thing. For other channel or menu setting on the Color Palette you need to work with chauvet. Best regards,

So the house dimmer is tied into the same line as the rest of the lights, and you have both the x-fade and compu controlling them with an a/b switch? You are saying all the lights work ok when controlling with compu, but when you switch it to the x-fade the leds go nuts? If so, they are probably losing dmx since the x-fade is only 6 channels. The only option you have is to set the leds so that when they lose dmx they do not go to auto mode. Finally, you can also add a wall panel from the...

Thats a good question. Here is what Partime has going on. A system consiting of house lights which are only a few DMX channels..6 I believe to be exact. When Compu is on everything is great.. That's because his LED par cans are recieving DMX.. When he switches to the simple X-fade, it is only activating 6 channels..The LED pars lose DMX and go into sound active mode. First let me say, dont rely on the visualizer! I have had several different lights that would not show up as being on, even though they were on at the actual light. There is a setting on channel 6 that makes the light go dim/bright/dim, and it sounds like the dmx values are off on the program. I would just program the light in real time, if thats not possible you will have to do it as close as possible in the visualizer and tweak it live. In regards to your other question, alot of lights...

No you cant split the function of a dmx light. either has to be dmx or stand alone. and also do not plug in a DMX light to a dimmer pack EVER. you will ruin the light. the chips and such cannot handle being dimmed in that way. so if you have a led or two at about 6 dmx channels that will use up either 6 or 12 channels on that board. read the PDF and see if it makes sense in there. ok? let me know if you have any more questions after you have read it. Rick, What channel is the DP-415 address to? If using sliders 5-8 then it should be set to dip switch 1 and 3 on. Also on the Scene Setter 24 you can change the output channel for each slider. Have any of the sliders been changed to control different channels? If so, you can reset them by holding the record button and tapping flash button 7 three times, while in record mode.

Hey E*dub, If I am following you right, it sounds like you want all of your LED pars setup to control all lights with color, strobe etc? To me it sounds like you just need to create a new page in compulive, and specify how many fixtures, and your start DMX address. Once the page is created, it will automatically control all lights at the same time on that page. You would then have to go to the “fixtures” tab on that page, and select the lights you would want to put into groups so that you...

Thanks John. I wish I could step up to the showdesigner, but at that point, I would just get the 1024FC and have the timeline ability. Basically, I am only running 8 channels of pars, 4 scanners, and 4-6 LED PARS's so both the software and the showdesigner 1 are way overkill for as little as I have. Plus, fundage is pretty low. So I guess we are back to the 3 questions: Can you select par scenes/chases independent to moving light scene/chases? Can they be selected this way with MIDI as well?

Raising slider 1 to value 255 will allow you to have control of the 4 channels on the pack using sliders 2-5. The Dp-Dmx4B will need to start at channel 6 (dip switch 1,2 and 3 to the on position). Ive run speed and fade variations during and after playback still the same.It slows down even more when fade time is set to 0. It has an uneven strobe effect if fade is above 0. I am seeing about 15-20 fps when in program mode. I then either record the scene and remove the program button and the speed slows down to about 5 fps.

It might be an issue in the profile if it is doing it across more then one fixture. Are you using an old DS250 profile by chance?
