Hello Again, Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you, the little down time I have had the last few weeks has gone to sleep and home...It has been non-stop on my end which has been great. I have some answers to questions you asked, a few new questions, and we will see from there. I have been able to use the compu some more with less problems, but more on that. I will email you crash reports after this post. For my fixture pages, everything is grouped in like lights, I have my design...

Re: DS 250 case

EP, I have 2 Elation Design Spot 250's that I am wanteing to get cases for. I was wondering if the ADJ accu-case would fit the DS250? I currently have 2 DS 250s and they are stored in Roadie cases but I am not impressed with the design or the quality of those cases. I have 2 ADJ accu-scan 250s that I store in the ADJ SX2r accu-case and I am impressed with that case. So I was hoping to be able to use a couple of accu-cases to store my Elation DS 250s. Thanks, Ric

what i think the customer is asking for is if the DS250 fits in the Accu spot 250 case. He likes the Accu scan 250 case so he wants to buy Accu spot 250 case for his DS250's. I guess i can run with that info. Nightraven, The DS250 will not fit in the Accu spot 250II, 250Hybrid, 300 case. but It will fit in the Accu spot 250pro case.

Good grief, nobody wants to take the time to figure out anything on these forums... Short answer the DS250 is much larger than the Accu Spot series lights, with the exception of the Accu Spot Pro. The case for the Accu Spot 250, and similiar heads is to small for the DS250. If there is a case for the Accu Spot Pro, it will probably fit.

Re: Platinum Spot

The replacement cost of the Platinum Spot lamp in the market will be comparable to an 575 lamp to start. Remember, this lamp includes a reflector so you basically get a new optical system each time you replace the lamp - unlike a standard MSD250 or 575 plus it is rated at 2,000hours to start - Philips hopes to get it to 3,000 hours.

EBAC, Thank you. Now that is what I am am looking for, a short to the point answer! Unfortunately I have had no luck on the ADJ forum or emails trying to get that answer. The website only shows a Accu-case. It does not list anything else (like the other cases) these last few posts have suggested. It just states that it fits accu spot 250 and 250II. Anyway, thank you for your time, I do appreciate the help. Ric

Okay, here are the photos. This is of a Design Spot 575E, so no static wheel. The rotating wheel should be the same however (I am pretty sure that the whole assembly is shared between the DS 250, 300, 575, and 1200, only the 1400s have a different one). First up is a semi-wide of the fixture with the cover off. You can see the one gobo wheel (Other is accessible from the other side) and the color wheel behind it. Next is how you have to pop the wheel out, notice the little tiny screws that...

Re: LED fixture questions

studio42 ·
This is something odd, but I'll post it anways. I recently acquired 4 ADJ Mega Bar 50's, and 4 Mega Panels. The Mega Bars still provide a somewhat "round" beam, at least in distance. Close up they definately wash wide. I had a bit of a time focusing these at a recent event. The Mega Panels, despite being rectangular, do provide a relatively round "beam". Yes, I know these are wash fixtures, but when you end up with a soft circle on the surface, it's rather strange to me. I know, the LED's...

Re: Magic 260 - 22 channel light !

dmxnewb ·
Ah Ha - found out about the channel priority shuffling that the 260 will do - interesting that it doesn't appear to be in the manual...... Now - just one problem to resolve - The Pan Fine and Tilt Fine are actually channels 17 and 18 on the light (coarse are ch1 and ch2). Can't get the joystick to work on the fine settings. 16 channel config on the fixture would leave us without fine control which might be a bit too quick and jumpy if we tried using the joystick for follow spot...

Re: Platinum Spot Videos?

I would have to agree that a beam would be interesting. I thought about grabbing some DB 300s for on the deck shooting into the air stuff. Now I think I might wait to see if a Platinum Beam 5R comes out. Keeping all the lamps the same is important to me because it keeps things constant. My boss constantly yells at me for cross renting whole shows when I don't have enough in-house of whatever fixture I need to do the job. He wants me to use in-house and cross rent to supplement. That works...

Re: different info given on E-spot led ?

visage ·
Hi, The Specs in the user manual are correct, with one exception the light source is a CBT-90W not a CTB-90W. Many times the specs on the web are based on our pre-production models which is the reason for the discrepancies. Also, look at the Design Wash 60 LED as a good wash companion to the E Spot.

which ADJ pinspot leds? The white ones that pan back back and forth? or the non moving pin spot led? Also the manual for the SDC6 is fine it is a basic controller. Basically when you have a dmx cable going out from the SDC6 to a fixture or dimmer pack the SDC6 will control channels 1-6 on the corresponding faders. you cannot control anything over 6 channels. Understand? If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Sincerely,

Re: Changing gobos on E-Spot

tmprwtt ·
Please understand, I know the process of making both metal and glass gobos, that is not the issue. My question remains, since there was absolutely no reference whatsoever in the manuals we received, what is the physical process of changing a gobo in the E-Spot. When I first looked online, I noticed that people working with similar Elation fixtures mentioned removing the entire Gobo wheel. While that might be an option with a 250 series spot, it doesn't appear that the E-Spot works that way.

Re: Changing gobos on E-Spot

elationpro ·
Hi TM, after re reading your question you didn't mention anything about how to change the gobos. the answer is simple, the Espot LED has a slot lock gobo system just as design spot 250. all of elation rotating replaceable gobo's use the slot lock system. its only the static non rotating gobos that will not be slot lock in some cases.

In reviewing several of the posts I have made, I realized that words at the end of lines of text seem to have been "disapeared." I use both a 26 and a 37 inch monitor, and from time to time it appears that Microsoft has "shaved the content" when the posts are translated to a normal sized screen. I apologize if there has been a misunderstanding, but the fact remains that, while I love the E-Spot fixtures, I need information not only about how to change gobos, but, down the line we will need...

Does sound like a great exhibit. Well all we can say at the moment is that the E Spot is in its new stage, meaning we just started shipping them so our failure rate is set at zero. we won't know what if anything goes bad on them for a while. The concept of the e-spot is to eliminate any failures. Its a revolution of all issues that cause a unit to fail. its light weight and cool inside.. 2 of the major issues with moving lights is the intense heat inside and the weight these movers put on...

Re: Mounting an Elation Chase Bar/Pro Bar 4 to a light stand

drpiranha ·
Sorry Jingles. I saw the Pro Bar 4 questions in the general forum and thought that was the correct spot. Plus, my question is really about mounting the Chase Bar to a stand and not actually about the Chase Bar itself. Hobson, I saw the LTS-10 in the picture, but it looks like they pulled the top pole/vertical section off and stuck the pin on the Chase Bar down in the plastic clamp. I may consider that route, but I'll lose the height that the extra pole/vertical provides. I was really hoping...

Thanks Guys! Jingles, I prefer the hands on approach where I can 'punch' up a fixture or scene on my desk and it immediately appears on stage. Hobson, Yes thats what I was wondering. I know in the SD2 its possible to assign specific fixture channels to the master fader (black out fader) while others are left untouched (like P/T), but wasn't sure about the MAGIC 260 (cause the user guide doesn't mention it) capabilities. I might have a line on a SD2 that's cheaper then a MAGIC 260 ... if so,...

Re: A Question Design Spots

Jingles8302 ·
Hello Jake, Yes both of these fixtures have two gobo wheels. The Design spot 575 has two rotating gobo wheels and a animation wheel. The Design spot 300 has one rotating and one static gobo wheel's. They cannot be shuttered like an ellipsoidal with the shutters. The shutters are simply a dual flag shutter system. You can maybe try to get creative with some of the gobo's shapes. Just an idea. If you have any other questions please let us know. Sincerely,

James- Thanks for the help, although I'm not sure I phrased my first question the way I was intending. In the Design Spot 300 for example, would I be able to use a gobo from the rotating wheel and and a gobo from the static wheel at the same time . I have some experience with other brands of moving lights, and have used this technique before. Thanks again for the help! -Jake

Re: Help my band choose a DMX controller!

Go with CompuShow. If you work with pre-recorded backing tracks, you can sync your lights to those tracks, and since you're synced to those tracks, everyone is in sync. Win-win. Even with you getting fed a metronome to your ears, have the lighting person work with a stereo mix-down of the same track and same length, so they can program THEIR cues, then they can swap the file out. Now the useful audio cues are diminished, but your timing is spot on. Make sure you generate your metronome file...
