i know,i'm a dumb drummer,but i'm running lights with a scene setter 16 and 2 DP-415's and i can't seem to get the dimmers to operate independently of each other, i messed around with the DIP switches and only got them to operate seperately on channels 7 thru 15 (only 4 channels per dimmer pack)respectively, i just want them to operate on channels 1-8 for ease, and is it possible for me to seperate each plug per channel (2 edisons per channel)or not, also could i add more DP-415's (hopefully...

Newbie question
We just got a lighting set for our church, and I'm a bit confused. (being the resident computer geek, I got stuck with volunteered to set it up--I understand electronic equipment setup and programming, but have never done anything with DMX devices) We have a Scene Setter 24 with a pair of ED15 controllers. Initially what we want to do is just be able to manually control each of the channels from the sliders on the board, with no timing involved. The manual doesn't seem to cover this at all.

I bought an Elation Stage Setter 8 a year ago. I mean if I got a Scene Setter 48 I can controle any DMX fixture with it or it is Specially for Dimmer fixtures only (Par,Freznel,Spotlights), So this controllers are not made to control intelligent lighting??? I have a stage setter 8 I've had it for 6 months or so and I am haveing trouble getting it to work at all. Ive tried new cables, terminators, (several of different values)different length of cable, resetting the unit, and every DMX address I thought the thing would recognize. Nothing??? Stage Setter-24
Our church just purchased a Stage Pak-2, which comes with three DMX dimmer/switch packs. Right now, we've just got 8 par cans, but that's going to change. I am assuming that, since one of the settings on the board is 1 X 24, we could add three more dimmer packs to the board. Is this correct? If this is done, must the dimmer packs be distributed evenly (three packs per DMX output), or can I run up to six on one line? I'm sure I'll have more questions later, but this will do for now. Hello, I am a first time forum user and I have a question regarding a Stage Setter 8 controller. It is used in a church setting, so lots of hands have access to this piece of equipment. This being said, the controller had been working just fine, while preparing for new programs I found that the lights now rapidly pulse/flash when full on. I bought a used scene setter Saturday for $50 the only problem with it is it is I need to replace 6 of the faders because the metal (the stem that attacheds to the rubber) piece is broken of the plastic piece inside of the actual fader attached to the board. They actually work it you stick something it it to move them. Does any one know where I can get the faders too replace them (6 of them). and i need to get this fixed by tomorrow or at the latest by Wednesday.

Understanding the DMX Operator
In a previous thread James (jingles) advised that maybe I should switch from my stage setter 8 to perhaps an operator 192. I am starting to gain an understanding of DMX, but I still have lots to learn. So here is my question as I am considering the switch. I went ahead and upgraded my 24 ch dmx console to 48. I am wanting to make my own chases on my board right now, but At the moment I only own a board, no lights or dimmer packs, So I was wondering if there was a program for the computer where I could make chases then and see output thing (with example stage and lights) and then put the faders on my board then same way?

Programming PAR LEDS with stage setter 8
Can a stage setter 8 control unit be used to change the color of an ADJ PAR 64 LED ? I purchased the control unit with 2 DP-415 for christmas and have not been able to figure out how to control the color of the lights. I am really new to this. My 8 year old son is thrilled that he can make the lights go on an off and adjust the intensity. Thanks Eric

Singer bought a pack with two sets of 4 lights and the SS8 controller. We can make the lights work manually, we'd like to have a chase sequence set up, starting with the presets. I don't see how to do this from the manual. I tried to program our own chase scene following the instructions but no go. So I've read the manual, I work with computers at work, but am having no luck. New SS8 Fog machine question
We just purchased a Stage Setter 8 with 8 par can 56 and a fog machine, FogStorm 700. I want to connect the fog machine to the dimmer pack to use it with the controller, but not sure how that works. I understand it has no midi or dmx inputs and I guess I assumed it would since it came with the Lighting Kit. Now I have to get a newer fog machine unless there is another way to connect it. Good afternoon, I have yet another silly question. Can I plug my stage setter 8 into the input of the 1024 dongle and control my dimmer packs that way? Can anyone help. I'm fairly new to running lights but I have been using a Scene Setter 24 and now can not get the scenes to run. They have worked in the past, but after the last gig, buttons and sliders were moved and no they don't work. I have & have been using the Stage Setter 8, never a problem. But It is now time to do away with dimmer packs and move onto LED fixtures. I just purchased 2 Color Palette fixtures by Chavet. I set the start channel on the fixture (For simplicity) to channel 1. On the Stage Setter 8, channel 1,2 &3 work as they should. Hi All, I recently bought the Stage Pack 1, consisting of the Stage Setter 8 and two DP-415s. I used it at a wedding last week, but only as a dimmer. I'm using sound activated, analog lights. I'm a tad confused. I bought a stage setter 8 with 2 Dimmer pack and light effects and strobe. I am very new to DMX and lighting. I have a show next week and I would like to program for couple of dances. I did setup 1st dimmer on channel 1 and 2 on channel 5 and light effects on 9 and so on. Now I want to program it. How do I program. Hello, I just recently purchased a Stage 1 pak, (stage setter 8 and two DP 415). The two DP 415s have labels in the back which indicate that Pack 1 has been factory preset for channels 1-4 and Pack 2 has been factory preset for channels 5-8. All I want to do with the stage setter is to be able to dim in and out by using the eight channel strips available on the "X" section of the stage setter 8. Currently, I am able to ony use the first four channels from the stage sette 8 to dim in and out.

I'm assisting in lighting a theater production for a small college. I have a Scene Setter 24 and 5 Optima OPDM-20 4-channel dimmer packs linked in series. Is there a way that I can create a setup that allows me to use channel 5 on the board to bring up only channel 1 on Dimmer Pack 2, channel 11 on the board to bring up only channel 3 on DP3, etc.?
