Is there a way to switch the rgb values in the program so that they represent a true 255 scale vs the 0-100 scale or is there a conversion tool to do so?

Re: Quick Color Assignments for LED's

matchless1 ·
Yes, Serra, what you are describing would be incredibly useful...especially the position pallets. Man, talk about a time saver when you get to the gig and realize your stage isn't exactly like you planned. Instead of physically adjusting EACH X and Y for EACH head in EACH scene, the palette tool seems way more efficient. Jingles, the quicker copying method (shift key) you describe helps, but still does keep me from having to re-create those colors initially for each scene. The palettes seem...

Re: Using Compu switches inside scenes

serraava ·
That would be a palette system. With a palette system, you save all your positions, beams, and/or colors. Then any scene or cue record using that palette will update automatically with that palette. For example, if you had scenes and cues that used the same focus for drums, you can create a position palette called 'drums' and use that palette for drum cues and scenes, then record them. Now when you go to another venue, simply update the focus on the 'drums' palette, and it will automatically...

Re: Midi foot controller to run DMX Operator via midi? Please Help!

Most pedals only transmit Program Changes and not Note Numbers - Here's how to get around that: I just got the MIDI Solutions "Event Processor" box. ($119 US) It works like a charm! John, the designer at Midi Solutions (midisolutions.com) was very helpful and really fast replying to my several emails. Here's how it works: You first program it using your PC with a MIDI OUT port with a really simple easy programming tool (free) you download from their site. (You can do it now and test it out -...

Re: Midi foot controller to run DMX Operator via midi? Please Help!

Thanks Greg. Sounds like just the tool for converting those controllers without 'note-on' sending ability. I do have one which is very versatile (Digitech PCM-10) and allows sending the 'note-on' messages needed. Though most controller don't as you stated. The info is good to know if I ever have to use one of the other 3 controllers I own which only send program changes. I presumed all of these would, but most don't! One thing I have noticed is some inconsistency between the 5 lights I have...

Re: Losing control due to Fixture Channels resetting

Also, I would recomend not using the beginner mode. i've never been a fan of it. Instead I would recomend closing windows that don't need to be there. Close output window, cycle window and even page window. Leave only those windows that have the scenes and cycles and you can even close all the tool bars.

Re: Empty boxes in easytime

Jingles8302 ·
Easy step can be very helpful in making scenes with more than one step. Or the Efx generator is also a good tool. From what i understand from your pics posted above the empty boxes mean that at that time that channel is not in use and has nothing programmed to it. Sincerely,

Re: HZ-500 Mini Review

studio42 ·
It simply comes down to the right tool for the right job. For your work, an HZ-500 is the ideal tool. For me, with light(ahem...) work, the HZ-300 fits the bill right. You're doing lots of events, while I'm a sound company handling a secondary task of lighting and lighting is not high on my priority list. I'm just glad you steered me towards a hazer instead of the fazer. I'm sure it would have gotten the job done, but I don't think I'd have been happy with the results. I can't wait to see it...

I got MTC working in Compu Live over a wireless network last night. When you click the "MTC in" button, you will immediately see a clock next to it, syncronized with your master's MTC (assuming it is running). I'm not sure how you'd do it with MIDI cables, but over the wireless network the first thing I did was check to see if my computer was receiving the MTC. MidiOx is a good tool for this.

Re: compu Short Coming

Jingles8302 ·
Jerry how come you just don't program a bunch of scenes with those pan and tilt settings where you want them. The function of the X/Y in page settings is to limit the area that the pan and tilt will go or not go. Another good option to have is if you have a scene that sweeps the dance floor and you get to a new venue and you want to adjust the size you can turn on the live toolbar button and that will allow you to set the size dimmer and speed of any of the scenes on that fixture page. right...

disappointed to hear this feature is being removed... certainly something I would love to see be implemented. Given the feature set of the software... a more "in tune" audio synch tool would be very useful and powerful. Hope to see something more useful and responsive added to the software.

Re: OPTI16-4 CW/WW

I ran into this YEARS ago and posted it on the AmericanDJ forum, because, well, at the time, that's all I had was ADJ gear, not that I'm complaining. I had a strobe plujgged into a dimmer pack, and yes, at dimmer value of zero, there was trace voltage coming out, and it was causing this inexpensive ADJ to discharge, but a a rate of less than 10-15 minutes(try 5-7 minutes, if even that long, felt more like 3-5 minutes). The nightlight solution worked fantastic, and I also came up with this...

Re: MIDIcon Mapping

I'm no expert on the MIDICon, but I'm learning Compu SHow. It seems i can map just about anything I want to anything else I want. In my case, since I have a Korg Nanokontrol, but it's running a JLCooper CS102 profile, it's technically already incompatibible with the provided MIDI controller profile. Yet, it still works great! All MIDIOX is gonna do is help you clarify what is or isn't working, it's strictly a test tool. If your hardware is working and MIDIOX seems happy, that's as good as it...

Re: Chase speed

elationpro ·
Whats up TAP. Every page has its own tool bar options. So you want to click on the top left hand corner of the page, where the page name is, and right click, or shift right click for a list of about 5 tool bars. You want to select the live tool bar option which gives you a size and speed fader.

Lets say i have scene a, b, and c. i want to fade through them all the first time with a 3 second fade. then i want to go through them all with a 1 second fade. Is there a way to change this fade time with out changing the fade time to each 3 scenes individually? i havent tried using the master page - how should i try that way?

Re: How do I make Colorbars show projected light in 3D

wheresjc ·
Like Jingles said, you can't get this to work correctly out of the box. However, if you're really just looking for the beamage, you can patch the visualizer with a different fixture to give you the beam. Make a 3 channel RGB personality. Make it a conventional type. Make it a Changer. Adjust the dimensions to get what you want. Patch 1 of these in for each 'pixel' of your bar and place them next to each other. The conventionals and the movers are the only fixture object types that show beam...

To make it work, the FCB1010 should be reprogrammed with the sysex (.syx) file. We did this using this tool: http://www.mtnsys.com/?path=faq-fcb/PCEditorBeta.htm The website & program also explain what keys needs to be pressed on the FCB1010 to put it in programming mode. Re: Solutions for Wedding gigs

serraava ·
Hi and welcome to the forums. It sounds like you are looking for a palette system. Basically, you make palettes for your positions and program your scenes and chases using those palettes. Then, when you go to the next venue, you simply update your position palettes for the new room and everything else that is programed using those positions is updated. There are more than one type as well, so it works with colors, positions, groups, and gobo/beam effects as well. It is a very powerful,...

Hey @Drake , Your best bet would be try to add something that is Capable of Pinging within the network. You can then Ping each IP address to see if there is communication. Please make sure that the IP address of the Pixel Driver and the Controller are in the same range. If you have a PC, DMX Workshop is a great tool to have.
