Re: scene setter 24 dmx channel addressing

Luis ·
Hey Carl, To assign the DMX Channels on "ADJ" branded version of the Scene Setter you will need to do the following: 1. Enter Program Mode by pressing and holding the Record button and entering 1, 6, 6, 8. 2. Enter Channel Assign Mode by pressing and holding the Record button and entering 8, 8, 8. 3. Once this has been done the display will read 001, you can now use the Up or Down button to select the channel (1-512) that you want assigned. 4. Once your desired channel is displayed, tap the...

Re: SD3 Playbacks containing presets, selected fixtures question

George Webb ·
Thanks SDMAN. I just tried using Scenes instead of Presets, but Scenes seem to have a few different problems: Scenes sometimes want to cancel each other when turning them on. (Does anyone know why this is?) This makes it hard to turn on multiple scenes simultaneously. When a scene fades out, it fades its channels down to zero, rather than letting them stay at their "color scene". I thought "HTP" would allow the highest value to control the channel, but apparently it means a controller will...

Re: SD3 Playbacks containing presets, selected fixtures question

George Webb ·
Here's a possible explanation: I noticed my fixtures' DMX channels are assigned to multiple fixtures, at least one of which is a single "32 channel DMX" fixture, which therefore contains all my 4 fixtures (7 channels each, channels 1~28). I don't know why they did that, versus setting up correct separate 7-channel profiles, but perhaps that would explain why the Scene recalls seem to be interfering with each other!? Maybe I should erase the whole console and start over? Still trying to get...

If it's within the 2 year warranty your best bet would be to send it in for warranty repair. You can always send an email to rma@elationlighting.com to set you up with a RMA to send it in. If it's not under warranty anymore and if you have another working unit with the same color display, you can always start by trying to swap out the...

Hi DJ, Yes it could be bad. If the DMX driver chips are damaged, then they will still work sound active. Try using your friends board and a light also to see if both your lights and controllers work. If it is DMX drivers, then you will have to send it in for service. No other way around it. Elation makes this device. DMX Branch 4. It is created to supress over voltage to the DMX signal. The first pack should have only the first dip switch up and the second should have only the first and third up. This will make the channel 1 for the first and 5 for the second, thus covering all 8 channels you want. No, you can't separate the two plugs so you get 8 channels out of each pack, its strictly 4 channels. However, yes you can add more packs and "piggy back" or "daisy chain" (which ever term you prefer) off of the DMX outs from the last dimmer pack. You should already be doing this...

Re: dmx profiles

elationpro ·
Hi Gary, You wouldn't need a profile for a dimmer packs. Dimmer packs are generic and don't have any special values, say colors or gobos or prisms. All you need to do is go to the generic page and use a par 56 or par 64. So if you have a 4 ch dimmer as you do with the dp-dmx20l you will use a par 56 then say you have 4 units. If you have a 12ch dimmer say like the Elation RMD-1210 you will use a par 56 and then put that you have 12 fixtures.

12 par 64, 4 trackspots and 3 martins, puts you at 19 intelligent fixtures and 16 conventional fixtures. It sounds as if you buy the operator, you can get away with using the operator and nsi 6128 and not use the universal controller. Or if you want to go with one board, you will need the SHOWDESIGNER 3. If that to big, you may want to consider Compu 1024EC. Not many consoles offer controll of 16 par cans with moving lights.

That just explains channel issues, not the strobing with internal programs and stand alone. The revision of the manual is from 12/06, and the 7 channel list is from 5/07, so the manual has yet to be updated for 7 channels or 6 channel lights are still being made/sold. Re: Octopod 80 with Magic 260 profile?

Jingles8302 ·
hello lemon! welcome to the forums. i think the problem your running into is the magic 260 controls only 16 channels per fixture. so if u want to run all the octopods as individuals you would have to buy more pixel drives in order to achieve this. because to control one set of octopods individually u would need a console that allows up to 48 DMX channels per fixture. u see the pixel drive and all 8 pods are considered (as far as your controller is concerned) as 1 fixture in the DMX line.

Re: Octopod 80 with Magic 260 profile?

Hi Lemon, Yes.. right now, you can control each pod individually. if you use the 48 ch. mode. So each pod will be 6 channels each. So pack 1 will start at 001 pack 2 will start at 049 pack 3 will start at 097 Ch 1 is rainbow ch 2 red ch 3 green ch 4 blue ch 5 strobe ch 6 chase If you use ch 6 to engage a chase of which you have 8 chases. ch 1 becomes speed time, and ch2 becomes fade time.

Re: Octopod 80 with Magic 260 profile?

Hi Jingles.. That's actually incorrect. He can assign 1 pod per fixture button. in the 48 channel mode, basically every octopod becomes its own fixture with 8 channels to operate. so if he uses the alkalite profile on his magic he basically needs to set each fixture to be an alkalite fixture. so if he has 24 fixtures then he has control of each pod. Each pixel drive can be one fixture, two fixtures, 4 fixtures or 8 fixtures. Best regards,

Welcome to the forums! For the dimmer packs, whatever address you set it to (129 for your example) tells you all the address for each light. light one will be 129 and light 2 will be 130, 4 - 131, 5 - 132. so just use the faders (channels 129 - 132) to turn on the par cans. Make Sense? For the ADJ Accu Spot 250 II's, I'm not entirely sure how to do what your thinking but what I would suggest is to set some scenes and just recall your scenes.
