CompuLive - Organizing Cues

AR32 recorder help please
Elation tech support supplied me with the windows xp drivers to jump my first hurdle with my new AR32 however, the software help section and the instruction manual is missing several key pieces of information preventing me from finishing my install. Compu Live Question
I have installed Compu Live on a few of our computers as they are adopted by the sound booth and have never had a problem. Today I tried installing the program on a Gateway Laptop running XP and had an issue. The program loads fine...even shows the USB doggle serial number. Then the program "dings" and the start up "Elation" window shows up and won't go away. I have uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times. Any ideas?

idea for something to implement in compu
hey all. i had an idea for adding a feature to the 3D visualizer on compuware. i was thinking adding a feature for the fog output in the window. instead of just 0-100% there could be a X and a Y selector. and both on at full would be equal to what we se now as fog output on 100%. my idea is X would control how much fog from back to front and Y would control how much fog from top to bottom. make sense. that way i could have heavy smoke goin in the background to see the back lighting effects...

Compu DMX In problem
I hooked up my DMX Operator Pro to CompuPro and configured it in the DMX In tab of Button Edit. I can use the faders on the Operator Pro and see the levels rise in the DMX out window but the levels flicker on and off and effects other channels around it. I hooked up some lights and it they flicker as well. Has anyone else come across this? Has anyone hooked up an external DMX controller and have it work correctly? Is there a fix for this? I really want this to work. Thanks

A couple of questions about design spot functions
hey guys.. two questions... #1. is there any way to keep the design spot from losing color and gobo info when you change shapes during live play in compuware? If I'm DJing, and change shapes from say figure 8 to spiral, the gobos reset to open, and the color back to white... Didn't know if this was just the light, or if it's something to do with the compuware fixture file... #2.) I frequently use my design spots on top of vertical trussing, and while they look nicer than my accu scans do...

Compulive Help-Fixture Page buttons affecting other fixtures
(My rig as it is at this show is 4 technobeams, 2 DS 250, 11 mega bars, and 4 dimmer packs. I thought I had the ideal touchscreen setup, I purchased an Asus T91 (touchscreen) netbook. The problem though is the screen dimensions will not render the software correctly. Full screen mode eliminates the top row of controls. The other settings make a small window that only shows some of the controls. Anyone get different results with a netbook? DMX value is stuck at "3"
Hello all, I am stumped. I was linking the dimmer function of a page to a midi slider and it worked for a minute. But it wasn't attached to the right page, so I disconnected the midi command from that page. I have right clicked on the slider (in the console window) and verified that the slider is not connected to anything. My problem is I have several pages now that all scenes and switches only send out a maximum DMX value of "3" and no higher. I verified this in the DMX output window. Not...

HELP! Pages page?
I cant seem to find this in manual. On the pages window,to the right of where the addresses are there is a little white circle that will turn green or red in different areas of the circle. The page in question is some LED pars that don't work within compulive. they just stopped one day. They do work manually. When i activate scene or a switch they don't work but the little circle turns red in the top third of it. What does this mean? no dmx signal? mark

disappering images in edit window
hey im currently having a few issues with my software. 1- in the scene edit window all of the graphics that display what each channel is are blank with no image but grey and this just happened. 2- when i delete alot of scenes in a row it will crash the program 3- can i control the speed of the fade time live for switchs and scenes made with easy step with set fade times? anything helps, thanks

EMERGENCY!! PLEASE HELP

My Master page is indicating 362 DMX addresses on universe #1. How do I get it to show all 512 + universe #2? I can, however, see all 512 addresses on both universes on the DMX "output" window. Thanks

APC40 with COMPU 2006
Hello all... I am trying to get the club i work at to purchase a APC40 for me to use with the lighting program. I borrowed a buddies to show them excactly how it works. I read up on a few threads and thought that it would be a pretty straight forward thing.... finding out its not... While having the program closed I hooked up the APC40 to the computer and powered on. Then after the computer says that the device is ready to use... i opened COMPU 2006. Easy Time Not Letting Me

For those that don't know-So I get this Software (Compu-Live, green box) from Guitar Center. Get it at a great deal but explained what OS I have (Win 7). Of course they don't explain (or know) that it is 64-bit and this software needs 32-bit. Find out that the box(dongle) needs to be up graded to be able to operate in 64bit (James, when I have the funds I am going to do it!). So I get this $60. Profile for AmericanDJ Megapixel 28 ch mode
For the past week i had been programming a show using Chauvet ColorRail 26ch mode. Found out today, that we are now using ADJ megapixels. The two lights are very similar where they have 8 programmable blocks. The differences i found were inside compu show. When using the Colorrails, the fixture window would show 8 cells per fixture, where as when using the ADJ, the fixture window only shows 1 cell per fixture. A couple of things....compu show just began opening in as sunlight suite and I lost all my stage data for 3d viewer. 2. When I click and drag position palette into x/y channels while building a scene, positions are off, but when I select the palette in palette editor window, its fine. ??????????????

MIDI mapping issue with APC40
I am having a small issue mapping my APC40. I have the Console window open and I have the APC40 profile loaded. When I start the 'Learn MIDI console preset' I hit the first button and it gets mapped to the MIDI 'on' value but then it maps the second button with the MIDI 'off' value of the first button. That means that I can only used every other button. I have also tried going into the Console Setings tab but i cant change the 'infos'. All I can do is zero out the 'infos'. Anyone have a...

MIDI feedback with an APC20
Hi guys, I'm using an APC20 for live control. Is there any way to get the buttons on the APC to stay lit when there is an active switch/scene on the programmed button? I know the capability to do this is there. In the console window when I click a button on the virtual APC the button on the actual APC will light up and stay lit. It just won't stay lit when a scene/switch is activated from within Compushow or when activated from the APC. Anybody have any suggestions??

Issue With "Time" in Button Settings
I have Compu Show Running 24/7 so that I can run Scenes automatically at a permanent location that has a set schedule, although it does change month to month. So, I have been using the "Time" section of the Button Settings to do this. It works great if I need to run a Scene when I'm not around. MIDICon Profile Work-Around
You do not need a MIDICon Profile for the MIDICon to work. Open the console window by clicking the button on the top bar. Right Click the Header of the Console Window. Select "Behringer_BCF2000_big_10presets". Click on one of the Preset 3-10 Tabs at the bottom of the window. These handles should be unmapped. Right Click on any of them and move a fader/knob/button and it will be mapped to where you can use it on your switches, scenes, and page settings. (: This works for all MIDI Controllers...

When you go to save the show, you have the ability to rename the show, so it's really up to you how you want to organize them. That being said, I do understand what you are saying about the main window actually displaying the name, that is a great idea and I will mention it to our programmers.

After trying this I realize it wont work. The changes I make in the Add Fixture Patch Manager to the DMX channels are not saved in Compu 06. The Patch window looks great and would be a good way to assign DMX. They need to add this feature to Compu 06. So whats the best way to set DMX channels in Compu 06?

I use the monitor on my SD2 works great! It's nice because you have quick access to everything, and can even launch scenes, chases, everything with the click of a mouse. Just wonder if there will be an update where we can actually edit within the monitor window, that would be great! Just an Idea, I have caught myself trying to type in the monitor section when I change something, But I have to do it from the board..

Hi, I downloaded it and installed it. The "spash" window says Jan 2008. I'll run for a while in my on-going effort to try to figure out how to use the software. I do notice that the 3D visualize window doesn't come up anymore and I can't figure out how to display it. How can I get it to display again? I installed this version in beginner mode and told it to load the demo page. Jeron

Sergio, thx, but no cigar. The question still lingers. HOW are the channel names in the uploader program beeing created? The user only can change the channel names in the Channel Information Window when setting up a fixture. THIS order of Channel Names - given by the user - gets garbled in the upload and is beeing magically transformed into the listorder in the EditChBName - Form, which has no function at all, it seems. Except driving me nuts.

Tony, I am the compu live guy. Try this when you go to create a new master scene click the switch with the position you want to use. When the switch name window comes up make sure you click in the as you see now box and make sure the checkbox next to the position switch is checked. Jermone, You want to select LTP with auto release clicked, under the priority settings for that switch. You can access this by going to settings, then priority. If this does not work, go to controller at the top of Compu and select starting parameters. From there go to options and then pages priority. Set it to LTP mode. On your 2nd question. Make sure your par cans are in the Master page. You'll see a yellow crown in the check boxes to the right of the page if they are in the master. Then, you want the DMX channels for the pars ON in the edit window, but the sliders all the way down. If the pars are OFF in the edit window, then it is telling that switch not to change the DMX value. If they are ON, but set to 0, then it's telling them to set that value to 0. Which strobe do you have? OR are the channels ch 1 dimmer and then ch 2 rate of strobe? or vice versa? i can find how to add a dimmer fader or a speed fader to the switch but in the output window it doesn't show it as increasing or decreasing the values. ill look into this further. Sincerely,

NY. Welcome to the Forums. I've seen both symptoms before. 1. dmx re addressing to 1-100 and 2. someone sticking there fingers where they shouldn't. The 2nd one is the most common off all controller issues. Here is a list of things I believe will improve your situation. 1. Always back up your work.. Controller drop down menu has a Save the Show option. This saves everything you did and you should keep a file at home, this way if the computer catches on fire and dies... you still have the...

Also, I would recomend not using the beginner mode. i've never been a fan of it. Instead I would recomend closing windows that don't need to be there. Close output window, cycle window and even page window. Leave only those windows that have the scenes and cycles and you can even close all the tool bars.
