Re: Midi Master

mikelights ·
Yes, any usb midi controller can be assigned to most buttons in the software to act as a dimmer or a trigger. If you right click on a fader in the program you will see a link to midi controller option which will then ask you to select a button on your midi console to assign it. The software even has some of the more popular midi controllers set up for you already in the show console window icon, all you have to do is assign the button.

Hi Schadow, It sounds like you have the software conflicting itself. You shouldn't have more than one button trying to do the same thing. Also you should only have 1 edit window open at a time, unless of course its for a diffent fixture. If you havn't done to much programming try re creating a page. Best regards,

Right now I have everything off. When everything is off (DMX output shows all channels off) I go to the Martin MX-1 page and click on "Center" and nothing happens. If you open the edit window for the Center switch all the settings look correct but its set to Blind-->Live and it wont change. Nothing else is open at this time so I don't have more than one button trying to do the same thing. This isn't a switch I created, this is the prerogrammed switch for the MX-1 from the Scanlibrary.

Hey buddy, This is not the simplest fixture to programm. Its the only fixture of its kind with 2 RGB color mixing options. Most controllers are not set up to offer 2 color mixing pallets. What you have to do is patch the channels to the second group of channels. You do this on the page settings window, then go to channels. Here you will see the fixtures, and channel option. Now you have to find the first red of the fixtures and patch it to the second red, using the "channels patched to...

Hi Gary, When a profile is created for lights, they are not always perfect because most of the time they are not tested with the light. Since compu looks for basic functions some lights may have odd functions that don't respond correctly to default funtions of the software. What you want to do is after the page is created go to the edit window of any button. Here you can have direct access to all the channels and you should be able to use the functions of all the channels. This will let you...

Hi D-Rey, You have a good start, but your way off. What you want to do is start all over. In begginer mode, you can't delete or start over, so you will need to switch to expert mode. Domi, 1. 1.02 is currently the latest version. 2. When using a preset, the fixture profile must match the fixture. What fixture are you controlling? 3. You'll need to initialize the channel names. When opening the Magic 260 uploader program, close the Ulink Ver 1.08 window. Go to show forms (located on the top left corner) and select EditChName. Select Init and save. The Channel names will now appear when creating a profile. Please call me if you continue to have any problems Sergio C.

Hi Matchless1 I wanted to jump in and help out a bit. For Q1. You cannot control the speed of a cycle with 1 slider. What you would need to do for this is create steps using EASY STEP in the edit window of a scene. After multiple steps have been created, you need to convert the Easy step to EASY TIME using a yellow button labled Easy Time. This is where the faders Jingles was talking about kick in. Q2. The 3D window works seperatly from the real life fixtures. The attributes created are...

Hi Matchless, Yes, I know what your talking about.. and you have a few simple modifications to work with. 1. The Design Spot 250 has two pan degree settings. The degree is the amount of spin from left to right that the light can move. It should be set to 540 degrees on the light to match the 3D window. 2. Once this is done, then on the 3D window you may want to invert the pan and tilt to match the direction of the actual light. Here is a picture to help you find the pan and tilt inversion.

Re: Compu Live Questions

Thats true, The other option, and I am not sure if it will work, would be to rotate the position of the fixtures in the 3D window. So what you need to do is hit center and Tilt the fixtures to hit a wall, then pan the fixtures all the way to the left. Once this is done match the 3D fixture to the real fixture. Then try to pan from there.

Re: Available Channels

Hi Fish, You have a lot of learning to do. Hopefully Jingles will be able to help you more. Anyhow, when you set up your pages, each page shows you the channels you are using. Say 1-56 or 213-400. So when you study the pages, you can use this information to make sure you do not overlap channels, and you can clearly see how many channels you have free. You can also download the latest software, which should work with your 2006 interface.
