Well...we do offer some LED fixtures now which have enough output to work in this type of environment - even IP 65 Rated - check out our Design Panel 72 - which has lumen output comparable to 250W discarge units in colors. Re: Compu Live Question

So the house dimmer is tied into the same line as the rest of the lights, and you have both the x-fade and compu controlling them with an a/b switch? You are saying all the lights work ok when controlling with compu, but when you switch it to the x-fade the leds go nuts? If so, they are probably losing dmx since the x-fade is only 6 channels. The only option you have is to set the leds so that when they lose dmx they do not go to auto mode. Finally, you can also add a wall panel from the...

There is a way to do fade/no fade using the Midi controller. You can either do it with the virtual controller on the screen, or have an external one. Unfortunately you cannot use a single button to turn the fade on and off with the virtual board, you will have to use 2 buttons, or one of the faders on the board. You can use one button for On/off using the external board because it will latch when you press the button. To set this up... 1. launch the midi controller on the screen. 2. If you...

I understand what his problem was and I understand what you are saying. Yes, he did buy the incorrect wall controller for the job, but I seriously doubt he wants to drop another $500 dollars and be stuck with the x-fade still. That is why I recommend he build his own switch panel to work with the Easy Stand Alone box. Like I said it cost under $50, and can be put together in about an hour and works great!

Ok, I found what I believe John is talking about. http://www.nicolaudie.com/main.php?id_page=28 It is the same list price that he stated. It does look nice but its still overkill from what I am talking about. It is a self contained wall mount DMX controller much like the AR-32. It can be programmed with the Easy Stand Alone software, and act as a dmx usb dongle for Sunlite/Compu. So basically it is like an Easy Stand Alone box in a fancy touch panel for the wall. Re: Battery powered LED fixtures?

Elation actually makes a battery powered LED fixture called the Event Panel . Should be exactly what you are looking for. With regards as to how to make your own battery powered LEDs, it is something that shouldn't be discussed on open forum since someone can be seriously hurt or even worse, killed. If your not sure how to do it, don't do it. Not worth playing with your and others lives and well being. Even if you get an electrician to wire it, it still won't be UL, ETL, and/or CE approved.

I read that "ELAR-DRIVER-8" has compatibility with DMX 512. Hi CJ, Here's what I recommend. Set the second panel exactly as the first panel. Address and all. They should do the exact same thing when you use the DMX operator pro. This is your starting point. When and if they do the same thing or not, then it sounds like anything would be an issue with your light. You should contact the manufacturer of the light which is Chuavet as this forum is only to support the Elation products. Once you get the Chauvet lights figured out and you have questions on...

20-amp only? That must be reserved for some specific bit of hardware, best I could guess. That would make more sense in a hospital. I've never seen a 20-amp only outlet, always the typical 15/20 that has the T on the neutral for "compatibility". One thing I do these days with new venues is I have one of those pen-type devices that can detect a live circuit. If I have a live circuit, next thing I do is meter it and document that on a per outlet basis. I've only run into 1 problem: an outlet...

Re: Want Simple On and Off for lights, How do I do it with my DMX Operator

Well, you CAN do this, but you've got to create scenes that cover every possible scenario you'd want, and then have a chart documenting what's on for which scene. But on the go, that might be too much to deal with, as its too easy to overlook something. I'd say MyDMX by American DJ might be an option with or without a MIDI controller. It's a PC based software solution. While you can also make scenes you can name, you can also override the scenes using HTP or LTP to determine priorities. It's...

OK Here goes. As of the last beta of CompuShow I tested, the profile editor still did not allow for a fixture to have multiple R, G, or B slots. Therefor, you can patch a matrix with the full profile but the effects will only work for pixel 1. (Very few console manufacturers have this capability built in to their consoles as of yet.) Build a Matrix of 3 Channel RGB Units. It can be handy to open a 3 channel LED fixture profile in the PROFILE EDITOR and name it Pixel and save it as Pixel.

Re: Does DMX 512 applicable for LED Screens based on RGB Pixels

Jingles8302 ·
One example going off of what Jeff said, ADJ has some LED panels. The Flash panels are DMX ran and have 16 "pixels" per panel. So each panel takes 48 dmx channels. You can run about 10 panels in one DMX universe. Take a look at the You Tube video on the product page: http://www.americandj.com/Prod...nId=2&Category=L.E.D . They are very low res and it would require many many panels and DMX universes to get a decent resolution out of them for even basic graphics. But the point of all this...

since the stick and the compu cue are made by the same developer some functions can be controlled through the same software. not all but some. we usually recommend that you do not run multiple software on the same computer as this can cause problems. this might be one of them. the only solution would be to unplug one when using your software. if you are using compu show unplug the stick. if using the ART1024 software, unplug the stick panel from the computer.

Re: Show Designer 2

I looked at the Lightronics page and I see the RD82 is an 8 channel dimmer and the CP400 is just a jack panel. The jack is probably connected to a dimmer pack somewhere. When you find out how the dimmers are set up, we can program the controller to match. Hope this helps.

Ok, then I have got to do some wire tracing and see where the dimmer is for the house lights. It is not anywhere that I would have expected to see it, so that probably means it is hidden behind some wall or panel somewhere.

You can try taking your sd2 over to that jack panel, plug in, and try out every dmx channel till you find what works. It might just be the first couple of channels. There should be a power switch somewhere that turns on the system. I would think they would have put all the dimmer racks in the same place.
