Hello, Real quick question... do intelligent lights work in dimmer packs? I assume not since they need multiple channels to allow you to configure the patterns... and dimmers only offer on/off... or dimming capability. DP-415 Problem
I'm using two DP-415 dimmer packs with the FC-400 4 Channel DMX Foot Controller. With two banks of 4 wash lights on each, in line. The light bank on the first dimmer pack in line suddenly stopped working on all 4 wash lights in that bank. However the power and all the signal lights on the dimmer pack are functioning as normal. DMX and XLR cable compatibility?
Hi there, I have an Enttec DMX USB Pro box, which plugs into my dimmer pack via the 5 pin dmx end on the enttec end, and a 3 pin end on the dimmer pack end. If i need a longer length (currently i have a 63ft dmx lead and i need to run it about 100ft, so need about 40ft worth of extension), can i plug a 3 pin XLR lead into the 3 pin DMX end to extend it? (just because i already have a 50ft XLR cable, so it would mean I don't have to buy another DMX lead...) Thanks,

DMX Terminators
Does Elation recommend and offer DMX Terminators for ending a DMX run from the controller through the packs to the 'out' of the last pack? I understand that a 120 ohm resistor is required at the last pack on a leg run, to prevent 'bounce back'of the signal. I guess it would just be an XLR with a resistor across the pins?? DP-DMX20L 4 Channel Dimmer Pack Issue!
I havce over 15 of these units and they're great...when they work. Recently I've had the following problem: I'll have a dmx signal of 0 to all channels, power switch turned off on the unit and 1 or 2 channels stay ON. The green LED is off and the fuse it fine. When i take out the fuse the light goes off or if i unplug the unit, but no other way controls these freak channels. I currently have about 6 channels like this. I have a stage setter 8 I've had it for 6 months or so and I am haveing trouble getting it to work at all. Ive tried new cables, terminators, (several of different values)different length of cable, resetting the unit, and every DMX address I thought the thing would recognize. Nothing??? I have just purchased a Operator 192 and I have several old-school ADJ rollers (DMX) and a several other lights that are not-DMX controlled, but sound-activated. new user for stage-setter 8
Singer bought a pack with two sets of 4 lights and the SS8 controller. We can make the lights work manually, we'd like to have a chase sequence set up, starting with the presets. I don't see how to do this from the manual. I tried to program our own chase scene following the instructions but no go. So I've read the manual, I work with computers at work, but am having no luck. Just got the DMX Operator Pro and I was wondering if there's any way to program one intellibeam and have another way mirror it's movement?? elation DP-DMX20L Channel Type Impossible
If you look at this pdf, goto page 6, Step 5 indicates the problem I'm having with these 2 packs. What's indicated when pushing the menu button, the ability to set each channel to dimmer or switch, is not available. It just alternates between setting DMX address and the # of channels: 1, 2, or 4, that the pack will be.... We just purchased a Stage Setter 8 with 8 par can 56 and a fog machine, FogStorm 700. I want to connect the fog machine to the dimmer pack to use it with the controller, but not sure how that works. Looking for FUSE for DP-DMX-20L DMX Dimmer Pack
Checked Home Depot, Radio Shack, and Frys: none had anything close. Am I supposed to special order these fuses direct from Elation? The typeface on the silver part of the fuse states: 10 AMP 250 VOLTS. 5G UL. Found alot of 10 amp fuses but none are the same size as this one.

Elation Stage Pack 1 - Newbie Question
Hi All, I recently bought the Stage Pack 1, consisting of the Stage Setter 8 and two DP-415s. I used it at a wedding last week, but only as a dimmer. I'm using sound activated, analog lights. I'm a tad confused. Do I need to be using DMX lights in order to be able to use the pre-programmed chases or to design my own, or can I do it with my: 2 Martin Raptors; ADJ strobe, 2 ADJ sound-activated effect lights and Pars? I do not understand this one? DMX output disappears Hello, I am using Compulive “beta” version, due to other issues I had, now I have another quirk. I have a weird issue with my elation dimmer pack, and Chauvet relay pack. Both are 4 channel devices. Both the dimmer pack, and relay pack work just great when I use the switches, and sliders on each of their pages. Both pages are linked to the master page. If I create a switch with either of the units on the master page they work just fine.

I bought a stage setter 8 with 2 Dimmer pack and light effects and strobe. I am very new to DMX and lighting. I have a show next week and I would like to program for couple of dances. I did setup 1st dimmer on channel 1 and 2 on channel 5 and light effects on 9 and so on. Now I want to program it. How do I program. Basically what I need is to have couple of lights on at one time and couple of them off or dim. I read the manual and couldn't really do what I need. Any help will be great full.

Hello, I just recently purchased a Stage 1 pak, (stage setter 8 and two DP 415). The two DP 415s have labels in the back which indicate that Pack 1 has been factory preset for channels 1-4 and Pack 2 has been factory preset for channels 5-8. All I want to do with the stage setter is to be able to dim in and out by using the eight channel strips available on the "X" section of the stage setter 8. Currently, I am able to ony use the first four channels from the stage sette 8 to dim in and out.

Scene Setter and Optima OPDM-20
I'm assisting in lighting a theater production for a small college. I have a Scene Setter 24 and 5 Optima OPDM-20 4-channel dimmer packs linked in series. Is there a way that I can create a setup that allows me to use channel 5 on the board to bring up only channel 1 on Dimmer Pack 2, channel 11 on the board to bring up only channel 3 on DP3, etc.? Hi I bought a stager 8 pack and I am using it to run 3 inteligents par64, these par use 7 channels, I connected the pars directly into the controller and it works perfectly, now, I have 8 more pars cans ( normal cans) that I would like to control using channel 9 to 16, I would like to use a DP415 , my question is how I need to address this drim pack so only channel 9 to 16 will control these pars? Good morning I have an Elation DP-DMX20L Dimmer/Relay pack that I purchased to control some of my Ellect lights as well as some Par cans. I added the profile in Compuware (the 64 par can one) and told it I had 4 of them (Per each channel) and still when I Turn it on it turns all of them on at once. Is there a way I can individually assign each Chanel to its individual "fader" so i can control that individual light. You guys are awssome. Jeffery

Quick question on the DP-640B. I have an older unit that is 2400w per channel, meaning I can use 20a on channel one, two, three, four, etc. or I can use a combination between channels 1-3 or 4-6 that get up to 2400w since it is 20a per leg. The issue I have is I have a newer one that is UL listed, which is great. OK, I'm working on an event that is a shadowcast for Repo: The Genetic Opera. No comment. I'm going to leave it at "this is a job" and enough said. I see that Elation has a version of the DP-DMX20L with the Elation logo. Is this the same as the ADJ version? I am utterly confused trying to figure out the maximum rated amperage draw for this dimmer pack model. Some say 15 amp, some say 20 amp. OK, got my ICE-101 on December 4th, fired it up for the first time with a bag of ice in there on December 5th. I still need to learn some of the nuances of this machine. Let's say that I'm pleased with my purchase. 1: DAMN that pump is loud. The pump to get rid of the melted ice. I take it I should pump out at the end of the night only. On a current installation, I have found that a certain fixture in the rig is extremely sensitive to being connected inline with a DMX dimmer pack. Regardless of the DMX signal being sent into the fixture from a dimmer or the fixture is connected out to a dimmer, the unit still freaks out and loses functionality.
