Jim, If the unit you are talking about is the Stage Color, then yes they are the same lenses as the Opti Par, they just snap inside the front of the Stage Color. You can order these parts directly from Elation Service 866.245.6726 Part numbers are: Opti/LN - Narrow Opti/LM - Medium Opti/LW - Wide Thanks!

I was sorry to hear about SMOKIN JOE The Power Spots are working great I used them for a Bowling for Soup show with 8 active scans and 50 par 64's I will be running the same set up for this weekend for two good local bands Take care. Re: dmx profiles

elationpro ·
Hi Gary, You wouldn't need a profile for a dimmer packs. Dimmer packs are generic and don't have any special values, say colors or gobos or prisms. All you need to do is go to the generic page and use a par 56 or par 64. So if you have a 4 ch dimmer as you do with the dp-dmx20l you will use a par 56 then say you have 4 units. If you have a 12ch dimmer say like the Elation RMD-1210 you will use a par 56 and then put that you have 12 fixtures.

Hi John, Thank you for your responses as well. 1. I tried what you said and made my chase a Scene using Easy Step. After that I was able to control the speed via the Live Button Toolbar. So, in other words, I did not need to do anything further using Easy Time. I tried it any way (yellow button making the channels Easy Time), but it just seemed to mess up my chase, so I went back to making all channels Easy Step. I notice that the F7 and F8 keys allow me to adjust the speed up and down. Is...

Thanks for the response. We use 2 elationdmx20l dimmer paks on separate circuits, 4 par cans on each, and to the best of my knowledge the dmx line is terminated properly. I don't believe we are exceeding the maximum load as the lights worked fine all last year.

Re: Help with buying the best controller

elationpro ·
12 par 64, 4 trackspots and 3 martins, puts you at 19 intelligent fixtures and 16 conventional fixtures. It sounds as if you buy the operator, you can get away with using the operator and nsi 6128 and not use the universal controller. Or if you want to go with one board, you will need the SHOWDESIGNER 3. If that to big, you may want to consider Compu 1024EC. Not many consoles offer controll of 16 par cans with moving lights.

I think you hit it on the nail with DMX operator pro. I believe this will easily do what you want. Software is ok also, but the easystand alone will not allow you to run your color mixing LED's and have the par cans stay on at the same time unless you program that into the scene. Easy stand alone will probably be easier to get started on. its pretty simple. Best regards,

Re: Help with buying the best controller

Nope.. you can only run 1 scene at time. but the par cans run seperatly. So you can have a show or scene on, and the par cans at the same time.

yes, thats the size of the stage. they'll be hand from a 'tree' .. 9ft high. they'll be aiming at the band, which will be at the center and front parts of the stage. for the par cans, they'll be at the backpart of the stage, aiming at the guitar player on the left, bass at the right and the drums in the middle. will this do?

Re: Design 36 LED

That just explains channel issues, not the strobing with internal programs and stand alone. The revision of the manual is from 12/06, and the 7 channel list is from 5/07, so the manual has yet to be updated for 7 channels or 6 channel lights are still being made/sold. What I stated is merely what was in black and white in front of me and what was sent with the product. It is also quite possible that PU lighting has an older, 6 channel version of the light and not the 7 channel. I know that...

Re: question about mixed lighting

elationpro ·
We'll now that I think about it, I don't think the DMX Duo will work. its intended for Intelligent lighting on one side, and effects lighting on the FX buttons. This customer has effects lighting, and par cans.. So his best bet would be Dmx operator pro. He can create chases for his effects lights on one half of the board and par can chases on the second half of the board.

Re: question about mixed lighting

mrkeyz ·
This is probably a stupid question... but since all of the lights we own are not dmx, i have to ask :P What is the significance of whether a controller is intended for intelligent/fx/par cans? For instance, why is the operator pro not capable of running par cans except on the last 8 channels? The operator pro looks like it has a street price close to some pc-controlled systems i've seen. Would we be better off just lugging one of our laptops with us and running things that way?

Welcome to the forums! For the dimmer packs, whatever address you set it to (129 for your example) tells you all the address for each light. light one will be 129 and light 2 will be 130, 4 - 131, 5 - 132. so just use the faders (channels 129 - 132) to turn on the par cans. Make Sense? For the ADJ Accu Spot 250 II's, I'm not entirely sure how to do what your thinking but what I would suggest is to set some scenes and just recall your scenes. Continuing on now: The buzzing noise is known as lamp sing, it's caused by the power being turned on and off really fast. The way this is fixed is more expensive dimmers have what is known as a choke after the SCR so the power change is as dramatic as on/off. The better the quality of dimmer, the less lamp sing you will get. Now why non-dim isn't really non-dim. Despite you setting a dimmer to non dim, either via the pack or the console, the power still passes through the SCR and choke. So,...

I still might recommend the DMX op. 192 because if you set it up right then you can still do the conventional lighting. You are correct bdunard in the fact that the Colorado is brighter then a DLED36 do to lack of a diffusion filter. As far as DLED36 vs Tri64B, they might be about even at the same beam size do to the fact that the DLED uses Luxeons and the Tri64B doesn't. Luxeons are some of the best LEDs you can get, and are priced accordingly. They have a higher output per watt than other...

There is a way to do fade/no fade using the Midi controller. You can either do it with the virtual controller on the screen, or have an external one. Unfortunately you cannot use a single button to turn the fade on and off with the virtual board, you will have to use 2 buttons, or one of the faders on the board. You can use one button for On/off using the external board because it will latch when you press the button. To set this up... 1. launch the midi controller on the screen. 2. If you...
