I have a picture I can post of the lamp performance. It is from a American Dj shoot out but the new ADJ fixture has the new 5R lamp. You will see that it beats out a 575 watt discharge moving head from ADJ. keep in mind this is the ADJ vizi spot not the platinum spot. This will just give you an idea of the lamp performance. no problem at all. elation made the controller but eventually what happened was we stopped selling them and allowed ADJ to distribute them. That;s what happened. If you take a look at the elation website you will see a controllers distributed by american dj section. Your controller is in there. Sincerely,

Well, with a situation like yours where you are doing repairs anyways, I think the best way is how you originally approached this: ordering te correct part so you can install it. Really, if you're doing repairs anyways, you know what you're doing. I'd say contact Elation support via email or make a well timed phone call to Elation to speak to someone in support and order the correct part. They'd probably ship it in a day or two and you should get it within 10-14 days. I'm just basing this...

I think I got it, but now I have run into another problem. The lights I am using are not on the list. I am using 12 Venue led64 led pars and 2 Amer. DJ DJSpot250 (I found those, but not the LEDs) Is there a profile that you can send me to help me out? Im not that skilled on the computer to create (not yet) Thanks for your help.

I would have to agree that a beam would be interesting. I thought about grabbing some DB 300s for on the deck shooting into the air stuff. Now I think I might wait to see if a Platinum Beam 5R comes out. Keeping all the lamps the same is important to me because it keeps things constant. My boss constantly yells at me for cross renting whole shows when I don't have enough in-house of whatever fixture I need to do the job. He wants me to use in-house and cross rent to supplement. That works...

I was able to patch the fixtures. I have 2 elation stage color LEDs, 2 AmDJ 250 EX scanners, Am DJ Quad Gem. I understand now how to select a patch and adjust the attributes of the fixture. I then hit record and the play button of fader one. The system chimes and the light below the play button turns red. When I pull down the fader, nothing happens. When I hit the play button, it turns yellow. If I hit the number one at the bottom of the fader, nothing happens. Please help. Thanks. I know...

Re: Addressing cans on Compuware
It sounds like your addressing is off. Compu live software will auto patch for you however you need to make sure that your fixtures addresses match what is on the software. So when you are patching say 4 moving heads and you want them to start at 11 and you have 4 of them you need to tell the software starting address is 11 and number of fixtures is 4. As far as checking your addresses here is the best way. find your "Pages" tab as shown in the picture. I have circled in red all the starting...

I got an Opto Branch/4 over a year ago, maybe almost 2 years now. What a major logistics issue resolver as well as addressing other issues. I also make my own terminators, only cost me around $5 each when I make them myself because I use expensive Neutrik connectors! I can easily shave $2/terminator by using cheaper stuff. Basically what was happening is that my addresses on my cans (American DJ/Venue Par 56 LED) werent correct, but without the calcualtor, I had no way of knowing what the correct values were. Once I could finally see it, I understand the process way better now, and was able to address my moving fixtures no problem. bad os files...? LOL I had that happend to me not with emulator, it was my DJ program. some dlls files were corrupt during the installation. thats why we should always back up before installing or update programs... but who does?

It took over a week and the gig was past. This is why they need to provide the user with a way of creating (and correcting) fixture files. The software cannot function properly until they sort this. We are a disci shop and would like to be reselling this (we are an American DJ dealer), but we cannot until it is up to scratch.

Those options are the same as click on the cycle then click button then settings. None of these options do what I want. I cannot have the DJ changing pages and poking around for the INIT just to stop an CYCLE. THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY!!!

This one is just in regards to software vs. hardware control: I'm not an expert on the better lighting consoles. They can get quite costly, and it all really depends on what you need to accomplish with it. I know that computer software for me has been a wonderful way to go. starting with a low-end controller, the ADJ/Elation DMX Operator, while light on the bank account, is perhaps too lite in features you might want. Ok. Im at a loss. I am still having this issue. I have updated my software, I have bought boosters and I still get the same results. After a short amount of time, all my lights stop working and I have no control. Here is what I have: I am running from an HP 64 bit laptop to two dimmer packs then connected to a booster that splits to 12 64 par Venue LEDs and three DJ spot 250s and then to a second booster that has the same on the other side of stage. Well, you CAN do this, but you've got to create scenes that cover every possible scenario you'd want, and then have a chart documenting what's on for which scene. But on the go, that might be too much to deal with, as its too easy to overlook something. I'd say MyDMX by American DJ might be an option with or without a MIDI controller. It's a PC based software solution. While you can also make scenes you can name, you can also override the scenes using HTP or LTP to determine priorities. It's...

I installed the SD2fixture program and loaded the american dj p64led file and edit it to work.. it runs on channels 4 to 7 with 1 2 3 no actions .. it works for what i need to do. intensity, red, blue, and green. I can mix to get the other colors and set to scene.. right now the club i work for is flooded with 4 feet of water.. so I have 2 weeks to mess with this profile. when i am done I will email to the site so it can be added to the profiles zip file.. I am really having fun with this...

I am having problems with using a new Compulive that I bought at Guitar Center, today, on CD Dated 4/16/2007 with the Compu 1024 ec usb to dmx box. For windows it is: C:\Users\{Username}\Documents\Elation\Emulation\Personalities\User Put the XML files in the user folder. Once there open emulation and scroll to the very bottom of the manufacturer list in the patch function and you will see [User]Chauvet or [User]American DJ. The profiles will be in there. Jingles, Thank you for your patience and guidance. I removed all remnants of older versions and reinstalled the newest download that you provided and so far so good. I am getting ready to test a few lights using the presets and test it out for a few hours. I do not have any scenes/programs built for my lighting yet. Do you have any preprogrammed scenes laying around for (4)Trackspots, (4) 518 pro, (1) wizard, (1) atomic 3000, (4) ADJ P64 LED. I would like to see how they are built and work...
