Re: Haze question.

Only other type of fluid I have used in an X-310 is American DJ Fog Fluid, and the stuff is pretty much the same as X-Fog (Same family of companies). X-Fog Pro will hang in the air longer then regular X-Fog will, and X-Fog Ice evaporates even faster then X-Fog. Other then that, I always try to use the fluid from the manufacture just to be on the safe side. Don't feel like replacing heaters and pumps on fog machines costing as much as these machines do. A little extra cost is worth it in my...

Just link the XY and xy buttons to the corrwect faders in your fixture....then you have to map out your movements on the followspot matrix....it takes a little time, but once you do, all the lights will follow a point in space. I used it recently for an Indian wedding where the bride and groom came in through the front doors and had to have lights on them all the way to the stage. Worked like a charm. I just moved the light next to my FOH position to follow the group and all 7 other lights ...

Re: Opto Branch

I realize this is an old thread, but in talking with a pro lighting guy from Nashville last night, I've come to believe that both "tap" and "Elation_Pro" are incorrect about the Opto-Branch 4. 1. You CAN use the DMX Thru port to continue on to other DMX receivers, but standard DMX rules apply (no more than 32 devices on the line, terminate the last fixture on the link, etc). The splitter is just seen as a receiver on the line; nothing more or less. However, if something takes this line down,...

Thanks James, I think I get it. I'm not sure where I got the 32 from ... looking at the online manual for that I can clearly see it's 16 ... which is plenty. So to build on your explanation, if I turn on fixture button 1 and 2, then fader 1 is acting as a fader for channel 1 and 17 at the same time, correct? Is it safe to assume that fader one is actually designed to continually send out data on channels 1, 17, 33, 49, 65, 81, 97, 113, 129, 145, 161 and 177 and then the scanner buttons just...

I can help with a few recommendations. What is the room size? and the height at which these fixtures will be mounted? For a beginner moving head i would go with 2 design spots 250. Led par cans Check out some of our LED par cans and if the price is too high check out American DJ's P64LED Pro. Oh and what is your budget? Sincerely,

Re: Newbie Question!

serraava ·
For front light at smaller venues, I would lean more towards LEDs vs Par 64s. Par 64s can be lamped 500w, 600w, or 1000w. That is a lot of juice, and at smaller venues, power is often an issue. Check out the Opti 30 RGBs or the new Opti 30 Tri. If that is out of your price range, would look to the P64LED Pro like jingles said. For moving heads, again, DS250s are great fixtures. The might be out of your range however, so a Power Spot 250 would be a cheaper, yet still great quality alternate.

Hi CJ, Here's what I recommend. Set the second panel exactly as the first panel. Address and all. They should do the exact same thing when you use the DMX operator pro. This is your starting point. When and if they do the same thing or not, then it sounds like anything would be an issue with your light. You should contact the manufacturer of the light which is Chuavet as this forum is only to support the Elation products. Once you get the Chauvet lights figured out and you have questions on...

Hey Len, The latest version of the DS250 (v1.3) is exactly the same as the DS250 Pro. Older versions have some differences which are major as far as channel 16 (Fixture commands channel) goes. There are also some minor differences in other channels.

Re: DS250 v. DS250 Pro

Have you tried resetting the fixture via the console and/or on the fixture itself? Every once-in-a-while a fixture will do that on me and a reset fixes it. Also, which console are you using? It might be an issue in the profile if it is doing it across more then one fixture. Are you using an old DS250 profile by chance? The old DS250 was at 0% intensity when channel 12 is at DMX value 15 vs 0 for version 1.3 and the DS250 Pro.

Re: Design Wash Led Question

Well, the Designs will blow away the Opti Tri. The LED 60 has 180w of LED behind it and the LED Pro has 324w of LED behind it. The Opti Tri has 54w for comparison. Size wise, the DWLED 60 only has a 15 degree beam vs the 25 degree beam of the DWLED Pro and the Opti Tri. Keep that in mind, because you will need more DWLED 60s to wash a stage then the other two fixtures. Also, the Opti Tri is using tri-color LEDs, so no color shadows. Not sure if this is an issue or not for your application,...

Re: adj mega pixel help

What you need to do is create a new page. Select the profile, where it says starting address enter in the 1st fixtures address and then where it says number of fixture type in "2". That will give you one page but access to both fixtures. Mega bar 7 channels is ok. if you want more control go for a higher channel layout like 10 or 11 or something. i am not sure of all the addressing modes. no you do not need to matrix. questins are ok. Well, if they hold their own against regular 500-watt Par64's, then both are viable options. In know a "which one is better" is a subjective and relative thing. I guess the bigger question is "what is the typical beam angle of a Par64" compared to the same beam from the ADJ 64 LED Pro. So, I have some research to do. It does appear that, without doing any research, the Opti RGB would be the better choice due to the spread. With 25-degree angle, I can cover the entire stage with 4 lights from...

The director says she was pleased with the lighting I provided, so now the issue seems to be SOME color choices were too dark. So, maybe I don't need to get something better. You are looking for Tri-LED fixtures. They join together R, G, and B LEDs in a cluster behind one lens. Looking at the lenses, it looks like one, solid color. With regards to screens, they use separate LEDs as well. They are just smaller and really close together. Get too close to them and they become pixalated or look at them close up while they are off. With regrads to why companies use a small number of larger LEDs vs large number of smaller LEDs, the fixtures would simply be too large...

Are you talking about the MEGA Bar Pro? I've got two of those and I really like them as well. There are no midi inputs on the Mega Bar Pro. I did a file search of the manual for the word "midi" and got no results. You can't control the MEGA Bar Pro directly with midi. Some controllers can be controlled by midi. And any controller that can be controlled by midi can controll your MEGA Bar Pro. So you can indirectly (through a controller) control your MEGA Bar Pro with midi, but not otherwise.
