Re: Compu Live: What is the proper name?

Sorry, but I'm still confused. I purchased a "Compu Pro" around September of last year. At that time, there was a "2006" or was it "Compu 06" version which the Elation web site stated was "not supported". The advice at the time was install "04". Am I to assume that Compu Pro has been upgraded to Compu 2048FC? If so, was the software changed? And what version - 04 or 06? Am I entitled to a software upgrade? Are there instructions on installing the upgrade as opposed to a clean install? An...

Re: DMX help with Compu 06

Its pretty easy really... 1. Open Compu Pro 06' 2. Open visualizer and load which ever stage you are using for the club. 3. At the top of the visualizer click the little "Add Fixture(s)" button. 4. Patch your 7 trackspots with the "Patch" button if not already done so. 5. Move the blocks around (each representing one trackspot) so that they are 16 channels apart. I have it set up as if the first one was set to 1 then 17 then 33 etc, with 9 channels breaks as you said. Here's a pic to help...

Awesome! Thank you very much. I was adding them into a page in Compu Pro 06. I forgot about the Patch manager.

After trying this I realize it wont work. The changes I make in the Add Fixture Patch Manager to the DMX channels are not saved in Compu 06. The Patch window looks great and would be a good way to assign DMX. They need to add this feature to Compu 06. So whats the best way to set DMX channels in Compu 06?

Re: profile question

Jingles8302 ·
well what I'm saying is no matter what lights you buy I will be here to make profiles for em. So as kong as you use compu live 04 or 06 I'll be here to make any profile you need. And I can usually have it made for you within a few days if not one day. So let me know which one you want to buy and I will get goingvin the profiles for it. And perhaps the whole series too. So no worries. And as of right now I don't believe there are pre- exsisting profiles for this family of lights. But ill...

Re: Compu Live Keeps Crashing

matchless1 ·
Hi, I just d/l'ed the 08 update. I saved it to a brand new folder so as to prevent any potential "AUTO DELETIONS" of any of my current programming/custom fixtures/shows/stages/etc. I went ahead and copied over all of my Shows, Stages, and Fixture Profiles to the 08 folder. My question is, if I delete the 06 folder, will all of my Fixture Profiles and Scenes still perform like they should? Also, what are the new updates/improvements in the latest version ('08)? I tried doing a search, but...

Re: Compu Live Keeps Crashing

hello brian. if you moved everything over to the new folder location then i would say it is safe to delete the 06 folder. in fact i never move my stuff when i update cause it doesnt copy over your shows or profiles i believe it just overwrites old data. i have been doing it like that for a while and it works but if you feel safe doing i that way then do what works for you. so yes delete and it should be fine. but if your not sure save it to a flash drive or something like that. or keep the...

Re: How does everyone organize their scenes/switches/etc

davidpatton ·
thanks for the reply that's pretty much the direction I've been heading, as far as grouping compressed buttons for a song; there has to be an intent from Elation when this was designed, as far as how to group scene/switch for songs; James, do you know this??? as to the ordering, it goes a character at a time, so everything with a '1' in the first character get's grouped, then everything with a '2', and so forth; then the second character comes into play, so '1' then '10' then '11' etc to get...

Re: how to identify an interface?

djfoxbiz ·
Hey James - yes, I had the list of ideas. The addition of pallettes is the biggest improvement that I'm really happy about and I want to upgrade one or more of the interfaces here to take advantage of that. I know for sure that the red interface is not a 2004, but I'll check it like you've recommended and see for sure which 06 it is. I downloaded compu-show from the website - it that the most current version? thanks again - don

Re: Design Spot 250 lens Problem

I replaced the bad lens a few months ago. The glue in the middle of old lens burnt, and it looked nasty. After I installed the new lens, I realized my other fixture looks bad. I guess I'll have to replace it too! Has this been a common problem with these fixtures? I purchased these December 06.
