Ya. Very interesting. Thanks. Tell you what, try the American DJ par 38 led pro 6 channel mode profile. Let me know of there are any issues with that. I have had another user try that today in place of the venue profile and they said it worked great. Sincerely,

Hi Impedious, I hear and understand your situation. your still working on improvements in your facility. For your budget committee i would propose using the Moth theory. All churches want to get more people in the doors. Just as a light bulb attracts moths, so does a well lit church. the better lit up it is, the more people that will be attracted to it. If it is poorly lit then moths are not attracted to it. Given the fact you have in house electricians will save you guys tons of $$. that is...

Ok. Im at a loss. I am still having this issue. I have updated my software, I have bought boosters and I still get the same results. After a short amount of time, all my lights stop working and I have no control. Here is what I have: I am running from an HP 64 bit laptop to two dimmer packs then connected to a booster that splits to 12 64 par Venue LEDs and three DJ spot 250s and then to a second booster that has the same on the other side of stage. Everything works if I don't stop making...

I second this request. There should be no reason why it wouldnt be possible to have a feature rich iPad app that is on the same par as the Mac app. It would actually be easier to use, more like a controller, because you can actually touch the screen to make stuff happen.

Well, here's some useless injection: Idiots around here throw 4 Par 56's on a floor mounted square truss section with a dimmer/power pack running a random patter. Repeat on the other side of the stage. The Asians around here pay $800/night for that crap. For sound, they whine at me bringing in sound AND lighting AND monitors for $800. Go figure. For me, I just come up with a flate rate and leae it at that. Something I can live with. If I went with the 10% number, I would be charging...

my 2 cents... I am just starting to freelance small shows & festivals. Have about 3K in lighting - 4 Scanners, 5 LED P64, 2 sets of par cans on dimmers, 2 spectrum LEDs, & 4 Chauvet Color Palettes...all on 4 T stands and trussing....controlled by Operator 192. I charge $250-500 per gig depending who it's for...but I also uuse the same lights for weekly gigs at a small venue I run as well...so I typically have to disassemble the entire rig, do the freelance gig, then immediately...

Re: Venue Par 64

hobbyworld ·
I'll try it all again, but I have the venue (brand new) Par 64 sitting on my desk & using the usb to DMX cable directly into the lamp. I have tried swapping cables, buying new cables & I will only be making a run of about 25 feet & then short jumps from lamp to lamp. I was told at Guitar Center that if I was under 100 feet, I wouldn't need one when I ask to purchase one. He had longer ones running there in the store & it was running on Emulation software & looked great.

James, I tried the fix but when I paste the new Chauvet file into the USER folder It replaced the Venue fix we added earlier this week. So instead of copying & pasting, I droped teh Chauvet file on the desktop, opened the USER folder, & dragged & dropped the Chauvet file in the folder, (now both are there). Now when I go back to patch, all the instruments are gone from the patch sheet. EMPTY. I had to go back, clear the folder, replace the Venue file fix, & then add in the...

We are spending approximately $8,000 on lighting including 12 led par 64s, 3 mini moving heads, 5 colour led bars, follow spot, mixing board, dimmer packs, haze machine. We are also doing some sound and video upgrades for a total of approx $20,000.

Hi Maw, The console is pretty much the engine of your lighting rig. Its like buying a Porche with a hundai engine?? and yes there are consoles that are inexpensive but what you need to look at is you have 20 inteligent lighting fixtures dimmer packs = par cans haze machine Follow spot will not be on console That alone calls for a Magic 260 or better. Magic 260 controls 24 fixtures. I would go so far as to say that the magic 260 will be the least expensive console for your rig in our line of...

Hey scrogers and welcome to the forums. I have a bunch of Opti Tri's myself that I use for theatre stuff all the time. Biggest reason I like the Tri stuff is no color shadows. I get a shadow of whatever color I am mixing vs 3 different shadows with standard LED stuff. Looks a lot more realistic for theatre. Other advantages include the obvious, no more gels, 16.7 million colors (4.3 billion with the Quads), no more lamps, a lot less heat on stage, low power, etc. Brightness wise, they will...

This may be a shot in the dark but it's worth a shot. On the ADJ forums some people questioned you for a profile on a "cheap light" that is sold at musicians friend and guitar center. It was a 7 channel LED par 64 can that had VRI on the mounting bracket. You created a profile for this light but apparently emailed it to them. Do you happen to have it for Compu live? Hi. Welcome to the forums. The Stage setter 8 is a a 8 DMX channel controller designed and intended for use with conventional dimmer packs with Par cans with halogen bulbs in them. you need a "bigger" controller. Here is why. The LED par cans are anywhere from 3-6 or 7 channel EACH. The flash shot DMX is about 2 or 3 DMX channels each. The Galaxian laser is 5 channels. so add that all up at minimum channels are you are using 33 DMX channels if you want to get individual control of all your...
