Crashing...Crashing...Crashing

Hello I am new to this form, but not that new to elation products. I have been using Design Spot 250s for 3 years or so, and one forms of compu software for about 7 years, starting back on the 02 software. I then used the 04 software for many years, then 06, and now the current Compu Live. I use a mac book with 2ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4gb ram. I run parallels 3 with windows XP Pro, windows seeing 2gb of ram. I have been running this system for 2-3 years. Problems: 1. The problem I run...

Grey Dongle

washingtonlighting ·
Hello I have a much older Grey USB dmx dongle that originally came with Elation 2002, when it first came out. I since upgrade to 04 blue dongle which worked with 06 Compu Live software. Is there any driver to make the older grey dongle work with the newer software? What will it work with? Is there a way to upgrade this unit to a new compu or emulator dongle?

Advice on upgrading?

Hello, I want to upgrade my software to the latest version I can. Currently it's running Sunlite 2004. I don't know why it's running Sunlite and not CompuLive but I want to clean all of this up and update everything. (someone else was in charge of the whole system and now I am) Not quite sure what hardware dongle it has but when I start up the software the splash screen says 1SL512ec Does that tell you anything about what controller it is? Anyway I want to run the latest software, can I use...

Trackspot profiles

italiatib2k3 ·
Is there an updated profile for High End's Trackspots? V1 somewhat works, but V2 does not. (I use the 2006 version of Compuware with the blue interface). With the V1 profile, the Color and Gobo features are all screwed up. For example, Gobo #2, 3, 4, and 5 are all color scrolls, albeit different speeds. Same deal with Color. There's also about 6 or 7 different strobes--which turns out to be different flash rates. Why not just use a single strobe icon with an adjustment slider?

Can't Decide!!!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to decide which software to go with, our situation is as follows. Please disregard any stupid questions as I'm trying to figure this out! We are a church that has a 350 person venue attached to it. I've looked into CompuLive and CompuShow as well as the 06 (not sure if that's the same?)and Emulation. I have used the compu 1024, in the past and liked the layout and easiness, however I wasn't using it to it's fullest extent as I didn't know all of the features it came...

Three errors on a design spot 250

atlantadj ·
I had my wife buy this unit down in Florida and it had three error messages: 05, 06 & 07. Each error could have multiple causes. EG, error coder 05 "This message will appear after a fixture reset if the color wheel’s magneticindexing circuit malfunctions (sensor failed or magnet is missing) or there is a stepper motor failure (defective motor or a defective motor IC drive on the main PCB)." How do I isolate what the cause is for each? Thanks for your help.

Through trial and error I've figured out: Color control - 5 CH MODE (DEFAULT) Color prog - 8 CH MODE Color_Saturation Hue Intensity CT - 4 CH MODE Color prog. Hue Saturation CT - 11 CH MODE Group Control - 35 CH MODE My questions, What is Pixel Grouping, and how does it work? I have a remote that we bought with our Design Bricks v1, will they work with the II (v2)? Thanks

Design Spot 250 multiple errors

One of my original design spot 250's will run fine for a few minutes then starts having issues. It appears that the first thing to crap out is the shutter then everything but the pan and tilt. I can reset the fixture and everything will function again but only for a few minutes before the same errors occur. Eventually resetting the fixture does nothing and i get the following errors: 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 13. Any suggestions?

Hi, I am getting error 05, 06 & 07. Also during the channel test, nothing happens for channels 7 (gobo retation), channel 15 (scan speed) and channel 16 (Auto Program). For Channel 2 (pan high resolution) it only moves about 2 degrees and then resets and repeats. Same with Channel 4 (Tilt high resolution). What could be causing these error? IS it something I can fix myself? I have two other units I could borrow parts from to try and fix. Thanks for your help!

Sorry, but I'm still confused. I purchased a "Compu Pro" around September of last year. At that time, there was a "2006" or was it "Compu 06" version which the Elation web site stated was "not supported". The advice at the time was install "04". Am I to assume that Compu Pro has been upgraded to Compu 2048FC? If so, was the software changed? And what version - 04 or 06? Am I entitled to a software upgrade? Are there instructions on installing the upgrade as opposed to a clean install? An...

Its pretty easy really... 1. Open Compu Pro 06' 2. Open visualizer and load which ever stage you are using for the club. 3. At the top of the visualizer click the little "Add Fixture(s)" button. 4. Patch your 7 trackspots with the "Patch" button if not already done so. 5. Move the blocks around (each representing one trackspot) so that they are 16 channels apart. I have it set up as if the first one was set to 1 then 17 then 33 etc, with 9 channels breaks as you said. Here's a pic to help...

After trying this I realize it wont work. The changes I make in the Add Fixture Patch Manager to the DMX channels are not saved in Compu 06. The Patch window looks great and would be a good way to assign DMX. They need to add this feature to Compu 06. So whats the best way to set DMX channels in Compu 06?

hello brian. if you moved everything over to the new folder location then i would say it is safe to delete the 06 folder. in fact i never move my stuff when i update cause it doesnt copy over your shows or profiles i believe it just overwrites old data. i have been doing it like that for a while and it works but if you feel safe doing i that way then do what works for you. so yes delete and it should be fine. but if your not sure save it to a flash drive or something like that. or keep the...

thanks for the reply that's pretty much the direction I've been heading, as far as grouping compressed buttons for a song; there has to be an intent from Elation when this was designed, as far as how to group scene/switch for songs; James, do you know this??? as to the ordering, it goes a character at a time, so everything with a '1' in the first character get's grouped, then everything with a '2', and so forth; then the second character comes into play, so '1' then '10' then '11' etc to get...

Hey James - yes, I had the list of ideas. The addition of pallettes is the biggest improvement that I'm really happy about and I want to upgrade one or more of the interfaces here to take advantage of that. I know for sure that the red interface is not a 2004, but I'll check it like you've recommended and see for sure which 06 it is.
