Re: How Do I program my Power Spot 250's?

eaglejr ·
Hi Xplitz, It sounds like the lights are all set to the same address - so they are basically clones of each other, and will all do the same thing. Support is right about the address settings - it must be set correctly to control each light individually. The mistake here is that the DMX Operator has specific channel ranges per scanner. Scanner 1 = channels 1-16, Scanner 2 = channels 17-32, etc. So try setting your base addresses to D001, D017, and D033. That should get you individual control.

Hello chuck! welcome to the forums. tell me what fixtures you have. also one thing to remember is that the op 192 has channel blocks of 16. so fixture button one will control all lights addressed between 1-16. and fixture button 2 will control 17-32. understand? if you do not have any fixtures that use pan and tilt then you don't need to assign them to the joystick. if you do let me know i can tell you how to do that. sincerely,

Re: ALright Elation Guys I need your Help with this

rslx ·
The great debate: Who's Better; Martin or Elation? If you want to go by reliability, name, popularity; then Martin tops the list. BUT, the world of lighting doesn't live off who has better gear, because it's all different. I used to volunteer at a church that had MAC2000 profiles, and VL2402 washes, among other misc MAC fixtures located around the venue; and a GrandMA desk. They chose Martin for their reliability; same for VL. They put on massive conferences & live album recordings,...

Here is what's happening. I created a profile and I'm able to control colors, strobe, etc... Now I have an issue that once I connect 3 or 4 of them and assign the channels (1-5 for first 6-11 for second 12-17 for third and so on) only the first fixture property can be changed and at the same time it changes the rest of them, but if I want to change lets say color on the other fixtures they do not respond to changes. Is that normal? Do I have to break them by other type of fixture?

Well, I actually solve my problem. First I moved the fixture addresses to 1-16, 17-33, 34-49 etc... Then I found the dip switch configuration... and that's it! It works!

Matchless.. see if you can wrap your head around this. 1. create scenes or switches with 1 color each 2. create cycle with each of the colors 3. change the time for each scene/switch to GO inside the cycle 4. now when you click PAGE-DOWN on your keyboard, you control the timing of the cycle 5. to assign this PAGE-DOWN control to MIDI, open the CONSOLE window 6. right-click on the MIDI controller button that you want to use (any button will work) 7. you will see a blank area with 4 icons to...

Hi David, I am in a tribute band, and had the same question, what I came up with was pages will not work, unless all fixtures are on the pages...(which is hard and from what I can see can’t happen due to DMX addresses). So what I did is on the master page, I click edit, and click on "Compression”( either a scene or switch) and make short names for each of the songs like "1ofdays" for “one of these days”, and so on. After I made the compression, I then went back to the master page where all...

Jingles8302 ·
No there is no documentation for addressing fixtures with the dmx op 192. But if you take 192(total number of channels avail) and divide that by 12 (fixture buttons) you get 16 correct? So the dmx op must block fixtures in 16's. So your 1st fixture button will control channels 1-16. 2nd fixture button controls 17-32, etc. You really need to download both items in our DMX 101 section. They will both help you out. http://www.elationlighting.com...MainId=1&Category=26 Sincerely,

Re: Surely, I can't be dumber than this 512 Manual?

tom-scott ·
Now we're getting somewhere, thanks to phone support. Dimmer packs will be set to 'dim' [d] as this allows them to accept the control message, whereas I thought it meant the pack would yield this responsibility to the controller. The fact that CH1 (lamp 1) currently dims anyway must be inherent to it's default [1-4] characteristics. Secondly, the 512 Manual says: Scanner button #2 starts at an address of 17, (not 5)which is logical, presuming each scanner grouping sometimes requires up to 16...

DMX value 0-9 of DMX channel 1 activates Stand By, DMX value 10-249 leads to any of 7 scenes or 17 chase patterns. When the DMX value of channel 1 is among 250-255, this unit will act as a 4 channel dimmer pack and the start channel is the 2nd DMX channel." Sincerely,

Re: Platinum Spot 5R - comparable to DS 575E?

serraava ·
Hey Kevin and welcome to the forums. I am like you in that I have DS 575Es and love them. I was planning on grabbing some DS 250 Pros but decided to wait till after LDI. Sure enough, Elation unveiled this little guy. They cost more then a DS 250, but put out a lot more light. 173 FC and 1858 lux at the same 5m mark with the same 17 degree angle for the DS 250. So I am not viewing them as DS 575E replacements at all since the DS 575Es have a lot more feature wise and cost a lot more. Now it...

I'm way late seeing this thread but I'm wondering if there is a simpler solution to this problem. He says he has 4 moving lights, some conventional pars with dimmer packs and some new led pars. As I read it he has his 4 moving lights on channels 1, 17, 33 and 49 and then he has assigned his new led fixtures to 65, 81, 97 and 113 which should be open. I'm assuming the traditional pars are on the par can side using 129 to 136. Is it possible that he is just not turning off fixture buttons 5,...

Each Platiunum spot can have a few different channel modes. The channel mode you'll need to be in is 15 channel mode. Read the manual to figure this out. Your controller i believe blocks channels in 16. So your first platinum spot should be on 15 channel mode in the fixture menu and set to starting address of 1. the second fixture needs to be at starting address of 17. Let me know if that helps. Welcome to the forums. Sincerely,

Re: Operator-192 Help!!!

hobson ·
Though its functions are fairly limited, the Operator 192 will control your lights - provided none of them have to use more than 16 channels (which I haven't looked up, but I doubt). I'm not sure what problem you are having, but the first thing is to make sure the lights are all connected with DMX cables in a daisy chain from the Operator 192. It is always recommended that you put a terminator at the end of the daisy chain, but you might be able to live without it. If the lights are erratic...

Calling either ADJ or Elation should work (there is a lot of cross-over between the technical staff of the two companies). I got the 1, 17, 33, 49, 65, 81, 97 and 113 addresses from page 8 of the O192 manual. It shows that it can only control lights when in a mode that uses 16 or fewer channels. Make sure you not only have the right DMX address but that you have it in a DMX mode of 16 channels or less [read the instructions for each light]. Note also that you have only 8 sliders on the O192...

Press the Up/Down buttons until it says "4". If 4 is not an option, set it on "10". This way you will at least know what each slider does. Well, in order to control anything with the Operator you will have to address your fixtures to certain DMX addresses. The first fixture will be on 1, the second on 17, the third on 33, and so on. It is a 16 channel fixture so it will control any fixture up to 16 channels. You will have to decide what channel mode your lights will be on and after you do, you just address it to the certain DMX address. If you would like to ask more detailed questions, please email at JoelChen@americandj.com. ...

But then you don't get CTO on the gobo's only open white beam. regarding the 14 17 and 20 degree beams. The standard beam for the Design Spot 250 is 14 degrees. The 20 degree lens is inside the fixture. you need to open the head and you'll see the lens, and you simply need to slide it over. We opted not to include the 17 degree beam because there...

The board (because it is so cool) already does this. Fixture 1 is already set to control channels 1-16, fixture 2 controls 17-32, fixture 3 controls 33-48, etc. etc. You can't change this. 2.
