OK WELL THE PRO BLOCKS THE FIXTURES IN 16 CHANNELS EACH. THAT MEANS THAT FIXTURE BUTTON ONE CONTROLS CHANELS 1-16 AND FIXTURE BUTTON CONTROLS 17-32 and so on and so on. so if you wanted to put 1 led one each fixture button they would need to be addressed as follows. (assuming they are 6 ch's) led 1:001 led 2:007 led 3:017 (that would be on fixture button 2) understand where im goin with this? if you have dip switches here is a helpfull tool DIP SWITCH CALCULATOR Sincerely,

Continuing on now: The buzzing noise is known as lamp sing, it's caused by the power being turned on and off really fast. The way this is fixed is more expensive dimmers have what is known as a choke after the SCR so the power change is as dramatic as on/off. The better the quality of dimmer, the less lamp sing you will get. Now why non-dim isn't really non-dim. Despite you setting a dimmer to non dim, either via the pack or the console, the power still passes through the SCR and choke. So,...

Re: Wireless DMX problem

elationpro ·
Hi guys, The WDMX uses 2.45Ghz which has nothing to do with any upcomming auctions.. The Auctions are for frequencies not yet being used.. so this leaves the 2.45Ghz free. Elation decided to partner up with wireless solutions.. Wireless solutions is a swedish bases company that has the WDMX trademark and have been perfecting the WDMX for over 20 years. So although the WDMX is new to Elation, it has already been industry tested for 20+ years. For Licklider, I found that if you turn on the...

There is a way to do fade/no fade using the Midi controller. You can either do it with the virtual controller on the screen, or have an external one. Unfortunately you cannot use a single button to turn the fade on and off with the virtual board, you will have to use 2 buttons, or one of the faders on the board. You can use one button for On/off using the external board because it will latch when you press the button. To set this up... 1. launch the midi controller on the screen. 2. If you...

Re: Operator 192 questions newbie...

I believe your issue is that each fixture on the 'Fixture' button represents 16 channels. Since you address the lights in numerical order, the 'Fixture' buttons won't line up. So fixture 1 is really channels 1-16. Fixture 2 is channels 17-32, then 3 is channels 33-48 and so on. Try setting your first group of lights to channel 1 making them Fixture 1. Then your second group of lights as channel 17 making them Fixture 2. Lastly, your last group of lights to channel 33 making them Fixture 3.

Re: Show designer 3

You should have no problem transferring to the new console and not have to rewire and readdress your fixtures. The extra universes are in case you need them, meaning more then 512 channels of lighting, or can make your life easier at times. For example, if you have lights at one side of the room and lights on the total opposite, instead of looping them all together, run one DMX line to one side and another to the opposite side to save on cable and stop possible issues that may arise. As for...

You are correct. EXCEPT on the dmx op it is 16 channels. so scanner one addressed to 1 scanner two addressed to 17 and scanner 3 addressed to 33. basically each fixture button holds and controls 16 channels all the way up to 12 fixtures. so if you hit fixture button number one you will have control of those first 16 channels. fixture button 2 the next 16 channels and so on and so forth. make sense? Thanks James, I think I get it. I'm not sure where I got the 32 from ... looking at the online manual for that I can clearly see it's 16 ... which is plenty. So to build on your explanation, if I turn on fixture button 1 and 2, then fader 1 is acting as a fader for channel 1 and 17 at the same time, correct? Is it safe to assume that fader one is actually designed to continually send out data on channels 1, 17, 33, 49, 65, 81, 97, 113, 129, 145, 161 and 177 and then the scanner buttons just...

Eric is correct in that footcandle measurements use a single point since the light meters used to measure them are so small. For example, I have a flash light that puts out 17 FC but a few inches away from the center it drops to probably around 4 FC. Basically, you are looking for Lux and not Lumen or footcandles. Lux takes into account area where as lumens and foocandles don't. For example, I can have 1,000 lumens focused onto one square meter and I get 1,000 lux. However, if I take that...

Hi John and welcome to the forums. Yes, that will work. I have done it myself a few times on the Magic 260. Just make sure your patch falls in line. For example, if the light is addressed channel 1, on the console the 6 channel fixture should be patched at channel 17. If it is addressed at channel 11, fixture two on the console should be patched at channel 27, etc etc.

Now - just one problem to resolve - The Pan Fine and Tilt Fine are actually channels 17 and 18 on the light (coarse are ch1 and ch2). Can't get the joystick to work on the fine settings. 16 channel config on the fixture would leave us without fine control which might be a bit too quick and jumpy if we tried using the joystick for follow spot...

First thing you need to do is run a DMX cable from the controller to a light, and another DMX cable from one light to the next. Ideally you would put a termintor in the open socket of the last light on the daisy chain, but with this small a rig, you may not need it. Next set you lights to workable DMX channels. If you want both Tri Phases to always do the same thing at the same time, set the Tri Phases in DMX mode and set their DMX channels to 1. [Note: you can't get them to act in...

Re: Want Simple On and Off for lights, How do I do it with my DMX Operator

Well, you CAN do this, but you've got to create scenes that cover every possible scenario you'd want, and then have a chart documenting what's on for which scene. But on the go, that might be too much to deal with, as its too easy to overlook something. I'd say MyDMX by American DJ might be an option with or without a MIDI controller. It's a PC based software solution. While you can also make scenes you can name, you can also override the scenes using HTP or LTP to determine priorities. It's...

Re: help with building a matrix

wheresjc ·
OK Here goes. As of the last beta of CompuShow I tested, the profile editor still did not allow for a fixture to have multiple R, G, or B slots. Therefor, you can patch a matrix with the full profile but the effects will only work for pixel 1. (Very few console manufacturers have this capability built in to their consoles as of yet.) Build a Matrix of 3 Channel RGB Units. It can be handy to open a 3 channel LED fixture profile in the PROFILE EDITOR and name it Pixel and save it as Pixel.

I would say it is an output issue. Check to make sure the air intake in the back isn't block by anything. Also make sure to wait to turn it on after you fill it up with fluid. It takes a while for it to get through the sponge. You should also be able to sneak a DMX and a power cable through the slot in the lid, I have on many occasions. This video was shot about an hour after turning on a HZ-500 which is sitting just off down stage right behind the arch. Stage is 48' wide, 15' high, and 20'...
