Yes, you have 96 pages that you can add to 8 different books in different ways for each book. The console doesn't say how many pages per book, so I assume you can use as many as you want. Don't quote me on it though. Sometimes you will see something like number of steps per show or chase. So if it says 40 Steps per Show, that would mean each of your books can have 40 pages in it, but you can make up 96 different pages to use in the case of the DMX Operator Pro. Don't think of CompuLive so...

Re: Wireless DMX problem

I had an issue with the our Elation WDMX . We was doing a tent job and had 4 receivers in the air . We had issues getting all receivers to work . It intermittent and random . Sometimes it worked then it would not . We ended up running DMX cable . Back at the shop we determined the problem was specific to the Leprecon LP624 we had used . The WDMX worked fine with 2 NSI , 2 Lightronics , and 2 ETC boards . I love wireless ! I found some interference with HME wireless itercom on a Cigna gig .

I think Jon was correct when he said there are 20 1 watt leds on a circuit board. They do not make a single 20 watt led... If they did, ADJ would not be the first ones to have it. The highest wattage led ive seen was 5 watts.

I am going to try out the compulive software that you guys mentioned. Can you download it from elations website? and if so is this just a trial version, or will it work for me? I also understandd that each light you use takes up a certain amount of dmx space. for instance the moving wash lights that I bought take up 15 dmx channels. If I used the compulive sofware would it have a total of 512 dmx channels that I could use? And if so, would this mean that I could run a total of 34 moving...

I think I've got it figured out now. I believe that Fade drops all active channels to 0 (EDIT: for black that is; Fade transitions to the next channel values otherwise). Unfortunately I just picked up some Chauvet Colorstrips and their RGB mixing requires channel 1 to be at 210-219 and then mixes RGB values on channels 2-4. EDIT: So, from black it has to fade through programs on channel 1 (I haven't tested, but I believe having black w/ channel 1 @ 210 might be ok for in between steps, still...

I think your best bet would probably to go with DLED36s since they come stock with the 39 degree beam angle. You can also get roughly 2 for the price of one DLED108. Have you looked at the Opti RGB with lens kit? This might be an option since it is cheaper then the DLED36s, with the lens kit. Here is another idea, look at the Opti 30 RGB. You should be able to get between 10-15 at that price range. You can use those 10-15 Opti 30s to replace the DLED36s for your back drop wash and move the...

Ok bdunard, here are the shots. Sorry it took a while to do, been really busy. First is white. The Opti 30 RGB on the left and DLED36 on the right. The target is about 5 feet away. As you can see, the DLED 36 is brighter, though not by much. The beam is also bigger, as would be expected in 25 degree angle vs 39 degree angle. Next is red. Then green. And lastly blue. One interesting thing I learned while doing this, the Opti 30 RGB is much better at matching the gel colors in the gel selector...

Yes it does. I am still wondering if they are going to make different plates for them like Coemar has for their ParLite LED series, which is the direct comparison to Elation's DLED36. I have actually found that musicians love the LEDs over conventionals do to the lack of heat. They also love that I can get 'high' powered lights into a space with little to no power and not have to worry about tripping breakers. The nice part when someone thinks something is too bright, dim it. And then when...

Have any of the sliders been changed to control different channels? If so, you can reset them by holding the record button and tapping flash button 7 three times, while in record mode.

Also, make sure your sub page for the house is not linked to the master page. Justin

Re: Design Spot 250 Focus issue

elationpro ·
Hi NHNaz, It's impossible to focus both at the same time. Since they are 5-8mm away from each other the focus lens can't adjust to both. The only way they can be focused at the same time would be if the gobos were right on top of each other. Having the gobos this way allows you to reach a focus in between. Also creating a scene focused on one gobo then switching and focusing to the next would be called Gobo morphing. Best regards,

First, I am a lighting professional. Second, there is a splitter towards the end of the chain. Regardless, my experiments have been conducted with in 5 feet of my controller. I simply unplugged my rig from my lightjockey dongle, ran a 5 foot dmx cable from my dongle to the pixel drive, and reconnected the rest of my rig to the pixel drive. So all I did was add the pixel drive to the beginning of the chain. As I said, it works fine as long as it is the only fixture in the chain. As soon as I...

So you are looking for something very thick like an Octo Strip covering then. Diffusion won't help much. Getting it away from the LEDs more will help eliminate individual LEDs though. As for color shadows: This is 2 DLED 36s 44" away from the wall, 28" apart from each other. The speaker stands are 15" away from the wall and 2" in diameter. The DLED on the left has the stock diffusion filter in it, the one on the right does not. As you can see, without the diffusion, the DLED increases in...

I realize this is an old thread, but in talking with a pro lighting guy from Nashville last night, I've come to believe that both "tap" and "Elation_Pro" are incorrect about the Opto-Branch 4. 1. You CAN use the DMX Thru port to continue on to other DMX receivers, but standard DMX rules apply (no more than 32 devices on the line, terminate the last fixture on the link, etc). The splitter is just seen as a receiver on the line; nothing more or less. However, if something takes this line down,...

I have to agree with you stoke. If I had been on the forums when you wrote this, I would have posted otherwise. You are correct in that the thru port can be used to add other DMX devices, be it dimmers, movers, leds, or another split. You are also correct in that you can use both the 3 and 5 pin outputs in a pinch on the same 'branch'. I have done it myself a few times, but would not recommend it. It was a last minute add of some equipment and no time to get another split.

Re: Opto Branch

elationpro ·
2. The manual gives every indication that there are only 4 isolators in the unit, not 8. Therefore, using both the 3-pin and 5-pin connectors from a single output actually amounts to using a DMX Y, which is not allowed by DMX standard. This *might* work but could potentially introduce issues. This is a good observation.. I am running this up the flag pole with our engineers. Best regards,

Wow! This is my old thread. I did purchase this unit, and i HAVE used the "Thru" output, and doubled up on the 3 and 5 pin outs with absolutely NO PROBLEMS!!! This box is great because it allows me to split my fixture Stage left/right without having to run cross stage patches for my fixtures reducing the chances of somebody tripping on DMX cables!

Re: Opto Branch

elationpro ·
Here is an answer I recieved regarding the OPTO branch 4 In regards to the Opto Branch-4 and DMX Branch-4, it should be no problem to use all outputs at the same time. Yes, there are 4 opto-couplers that isolate each output but there are individual DMX drivers for each 3 & 5 pin XLR output connector… 8 total. So it is not the same as using a DMX “Y”.

Re: Opto Branch

studio42 ·
Wow, with effectively 8 outs, this really puts a lot of value into the box. I figured it would simply drive both the 5-pin and 3 pin connector, letting people choose what they needed. It's just opto-isolated in banks of 4, not 8. Cool deal.
