OK WELL THE PRO BLOCKS THE FIXTURES IN 16 CHANNELS EACH. THAT MEANS THAT FIXTURE BUTTON ONE CONTROLS CHANELS 1-16 AND FIXTURE BUTTON CONTROLS 17-32 and so on and so on. so if you wanted to put 1 led one each fixture button they would need to be addressed as follows. (assuming they are 6 ch's) led 1:001 led 2:007 led 3:017 (that would be on fixture button 2) understand where im goin with this? if you have dip switches here is a helpfull tool DIP SWITCH CALCULATOR Sincerely,

i copied this straight from the website so i am wondering why you cant map?????????????? Why we are at it I also noticed that the 7 attribute traits sheet is still on the Design 36 page? Full video pixel mapping control. LEDs are arranged in ten modules of 84, each of which can be divided into four individual sections. This provides a total of 40 pixels capable of running graphics or matrix when multiple units are used together.

Continuing on now: The buzzing noise is known as lamp sing, it's caused by the power being turned on and off really fast. The way this is fixed is more expensive dimmers have what is known as a choke after the SCR so the power change is as dramatic as on/off. The better the quality of dimmer, the less lamp sing you will get. Now why non-dim isn't really non-dim. Despite you setting a dimmer to non dim, either via the pack or the console, the power still passes through the SCR and choke. So,...

Depends on the show Drew. More complicated shows generally have time to program, and its just like Elation_Pro said, someone hitting 'Go'. Sometimes, it is linked to time code, so no one is even hitting go. Cruise ships are a good example, all the shows run off of time code, and the show starts when the sound guy hits play. The fun shows are the ones you have no idea what you are getting into. It is even more fun with movers. Running movers on the fly is often called busking. More powerful...

Re: SS8 Question

Jingles is correct that it is in the impedance of the cables. DMX is 110 ohms standard. The protocol also calls for 5 pin cable, when it only uses 3 wires. It was made 5 pin originally for expansion, so you could have 2 pairs running down one cable, or for other data of some sort. DMX is dieing however, so it will never be expanded to use the extra pins. Also, for longer runs, Jingles is right that you should only use DMX. You can however start to see problems with mic cable vs DMX at any...

Oh No, We have had this controller for over 10 years (i think. . .at least 7). The problem is that when you push some of the faders up to 100% it skips down to 30% and flashes around. It is kinda hard to explain. You push it up and it hits 100 then jumps back and forth between 30 and 100. Does that make sense? We just need another one. About the 192 not being satisfactory, you would have fast control over lots of faders. All you would do is it one button, and then change the faders. There...

If you look at the showdesigner you have a picture of the pin with a half circle around it.. then a +2 on one side and a -1 on the other.. or something like that. Check out the Robo scan manual and make them match. I think since the Robo scan is old, they only put current fixtures on the SD1. You can use the modify fixture option to recreate a 7 chn. fixture and name it ROBO SCAN. Bset regards,

32 max is pushing it. I generally start having problems with LEDs at 8 fixtures, depending on length of the run and fixtures in question. Dimmers, I daisy chain those things forever and they don't care, and I am talking racks upon racks upon racks. Movers, depends on the brand and length of cable in question. Some days it's 16, others it's 20, sometimes I can only get 6 on before the 7th starts acting up. If your last fixture in line is acting funny, and a terminator isn't helping, chances...

Re: Power Distribution Help

ramtek ·
Hello Justin: There is no easy solution to this issue. What you need to determine is what do you use the most. Some people use 3 phase others use only single phase. Typically Hotel ball rooms small dance halls, etc. will only have single phase. Larger venues like arenas, convention centers, stadiums will have 3 phase. What venues do you typically do shows in ? This question will help you decide what to wire your power in for. Ramiro Elation Lighting

Audia, I just saw this post.. are you still having issues? It sounds as if you need some DMX help over there. Using the fixture patch you should have the address of the fixture in the SD2 match the address of the dimmer.. If you not sure what the address is, the address is a 3 digit number that dimmer must have.. then a fixture button on the console should have the same 3 digit number. If these numbers don't match then you wont get any response. If you can't figure it out then we will need...

Not to rob Jingles of business, but I think it would be beneficial for you to just buy a small DMX controller that will allow YOU to program your own scenes and chases. For one, you will learn a lot about DMX lighting and how to accomplish many different things. Plus, you will be able to modify, remove, and add to your current banks of scenes and chases without having to rely on someone else providing designs for you. You will then know how it all works inside and out, plus have the...

However, I threw up some of DLED 36's and I can do some great effects with these that are not possible on my show designer 1. Ok tell me how to accomplish this in the real world. 1. I want to create a dimmer chase for Design LED 36's that I can save and then overlay on any of my other static DLED 36 scenes. i.e. Say I have 3 scenes programmed for my DLED's.

Yes, what you are describing are what a console would call a scene. A Scene is just a bunch of lights recorded (saved) to look a certain way when you bring up that scene. So for example, if you made scene 1 nothing but blue lights, when you hit scene 1 the blue lights would come on. If you made scene 2 red lights, the red lights would come on with scene two. If you made scene 3 red and blue lights, both the red and blue lights would come on when scene 3 is up. A series of scenes is called...

Yes, you have 96 pages that you can add to 8 different books in different ways for each book. The console doesn't say how many pages per book, so I assume you can use as many as you want. Don't quote me on it though. Sometimes you will see something like number of steps per show or chase. So if it says 40 Steps per Show, that would mean each of your books can have 40 pages in it, but you can make up 96 different pages to use in the case of the DMX Operator Pro. Don't think of CompuLive so...

Re: Operator 192 questions newbie...

I believe your issue is that each fixture on the 'Fixture' button represents 16 channels. Since you address the lights in numerical order, the 'Fixture' buttons won't line up. So fixture 1 is really channels 1-16. Fixture 2 is channels 17-32, then 3 is channels 33-48 and so on. Try setting your first group of lights to channel 1 making them Fixture 1. Then your second group of lights as channel 17 making them Fixture 2. Lastly, your last group of lights to channel 33 making them Fixture 3.

Re: vista 64 bit

There is no downgrade from 32bit to 64bit. Instead, Windows XP x64, Vista 64 and Server 64 all have 32bit emulators in them to make 32bit programs work on them. The issue is drivers for 64bit are completely different for 32bit. As for the RAM issue. You can use 4 gigs of RAM on a 32bit OS. The way RAM limits are determined are by your physical extensions and how much your CPU can handle. Most processors now a days are are 40bit, meaning 2^40 bits of memory or 1,099,511,627,776 bits of data.
