ok to adjust a circle movement: you create a blank scene and then you go ino edit and then you will click on the east time editor tab then once u do that u right click on the box that says "right click here to automatically create motion" and select automatic circle. assign how many points u want to then click ok. then once again right click on a pont in your circle and select shape properties. and then u can manaually adjust where you want the beam to stay within a certain area. understand?

That is one Opti 30 RGB, all LEDs on. It won't out shine a 500w Par 56 or 500w 6", but it does keep up or out do a 120w Par 38. Also, beam is fairly tight as you can see in the picture. Sorry about the quality of the photo, done with a camera phone.

I can't. Im at the tire shop putting new ones on the work van. Just happened to have the store laptop with me and an ethernet cable. Otherwise I'd be stuck watching Christy Yamagoochie on the only TV station they get in this place. HAHAHA! But yes, seems the 2 options are either a low profile up-light from the crown molding along the sides, (traditionally churches put florescent bulbs here), or some sort of tiny can(or long thin) fixture on each beam washing down on the congregation.

Re: Is there a 250 spot that will mix color like this?

elationpro ·
bdunard, Yes, a wash will be about from 40 brighter than a spot. You have a lot more light being projected along a bigger beam of light. However, that's all a wash fixture does.. color change.. but the beam of light it projects is impressive. Most rigs require a 1 to 1 ratio where you have 1 wash to every spot. So if you have 8 Spots you should also have 8 washes. But with the Frost filter of the Design Spot's it helps resolve not having to buy so many washes. Still the wash effect of a...

well here is what the page says. "LED TECHNOLOGY BREAKTHROUGH! The X-Move LED Hi-Tech Moving Head features a 20-Watt white LED for a hard edge beam that will project gobos and solid colors. Now you can enjoy the look of a traditional halogen or discharge lighting effect with a fraction of the power draw (44W) and without the hassle of changing out the light bulbs (LEDs rated at 50,000 hours)."

Re: lighting intensity and throw distance

serraava ·
Well, that all depends on beam size and throw distance. How bright something is over distance is can be determined by lumen's. How bright something is over a given area is foot candles or lux. Foot candles are lumen's/ft^2, so it is a more actuate method of how bright something will be over just lumen output which is based off of a single point instead of actually beam size. FC is considered old, but one FC equals 10.764 lux, though some just use a factor of 10 to simplify things. Warning,...

I never got a chance to hook it up to control do to missing parts. I do own several colorado 1 and they are not a good wash lite. They have a very bright narrow Beam and make good beam lights . I like my design 36 as a wash unit and use them in that fashion often. .

Re: design 108

You are correct bdunard in the fact that the Colorado is brighter then a DLED36 do to lack of a diffusion filter. I did a side by side of an Opti RGB and a DLED36 and the Opti was brighter, but had a much smaller beam then the DLED36. As far as DLED36 vs Tri64B, they might be about even at the same beam size do to the fact that the DLED uses Luxeons and the Tri64B doesn't. Luxeons are some of the best LEDs you can get, and are priced accordingly. They have a higher output per watt than other...

I think your best bet would probably to go with DLED36s since they come stock with the 39 degree beam angle. You can also get roughly 2 for the price of one DLED108. Have you looked at the Opti RGB with lens kit? This might be an option since it is cheaper then the DLED36s, with the lens kit. Here is another idea, look at the Opti 30 RGB. You should be able to get between 10-15 at that price range. You can use those 10-15 Opti 30s to replace the DLED36s for your back drop wash and move the...

Ok bdunard, here are the shots. Sorry it took a while to do, been really busy. First is white. The Opti 30 RGB on the left and DLED36 on the right. The target is about 5 feet away. As you can see, the DLED 36 is brighter, though not by much. The beam is also bigger, as would be expected in 25 degree angle vs 39 degree angle. Next is red. Then green. And lastly blue. One interesting thing I learned while doing this, the Opti 30 RGB is much better at matching the gel colors in the gel selector...

Thanks for the pics! Does the Design 36 have the plastic diffusion plate in it? Also, I compared a 575W S4 to a design 36 and the S4 is brighter on some colors (yellows, oranges, whites, etc...) but the DLED 36 makes a much more "dense" red, green, blue, pink, and teal. So I thought maybe getting the 3W DLED 108IP might be a better deal (wider beam and a bit brighter) compared to a DLED 26 without diffusion. However, after doing a show this weekend I have noticed that the musicians perceive...

So you are looking for something very thick like an Octo Strip covering then. Diffusion won't help much. Getting it away from the LEDs more will help eliminate individual LEDs though. As for color shadows: This is 2 DLED 36s 44" away from the wall, 28" apart from each other. The speaker stands are 15" away from the wall and 2" in diameter. The DLED on the left has the stock diffusion filter in it, the one on the right does not. As you can see, without the diffusion, the DLED increases in...

There are a couple more then that. You can order VL1000s with either an iris or a shutter like you are talking about. Mac 2k Performance also has shutters. There are some others out there as well. Then beam shapers are the equivalent for wash fixtures, which just about everyone has now a days. They are rarely useful outside a theatre setting, so its kind of a niche market. Always nice to have options however, like 2k Profile and 2k Performance, though I am sure a lot more Profiles are sold...

You can grab some barn doors for the LED fixtures if you get something like Opti RGBs or Opti Tri Pars. Beam shapers will give some of that control, but not like shutters or barn doors will. Maybe a dealer in your area or someone who has some fixtures can demo say a DW250 or any light with a beam shaper for you to show you what exactly the beam shaper does. It might give you the control you need. Can't hurt to look. Cheapest fixture with shutters would be a Revolution. Personally however, I...

Re: Multiple Shutters

Wow, my fault. I will edit the post. It should have been DW250, not DS250. As for the DW250 and beam shaper, it has 180 degree one according to website, manuals, DMX chart, and cue sheet. Don't actually have one to say yes or no, but that would be a lot of miss prints. The DW300 and DW575 have 360 degree shapers. The DW1400 says it has it, but its not in the DMX settings anywhere.

Re: Design Wash Led Question

Well, the Designs will blow away the Opti Tri. The LED 60 has 180w of LED behind it and the LED Pro has 324w of LED behind it. The Opti Tri has 54w for comparison. Size wise, the DWLED 60 only has a 15 degree beam vs the 25 degree beam of the DWLED Pro and the Opti Tri. Keep that in mind, because you will need more DWLED 60s to wash a stage then the other two fixtures. Also, the Opti Tri is using tri-color LEDs, so no color shadows. Not sure if this is an issue or not for your application,...

We appreciate your comments but yes...you are missing something very important! Raw lamp measurements are great but until you get a lamp in a fixture and in its optic system and then see how the lamp and look at the fixtures at the same beam angle you can't really tell the proper perofrmance. When you measure the TOTAL lumen output of the Platinum Spot 5R accross the entire light field then you start to see the advantage. This is why we say you have to see it to believe it! Hey Chris, you should also probably check out the Opti RGB and the Opti Tri 30 . Both are cheaper then the ELED RGB Zoom, but have less power output. The Opti RGB 24x1w and comes with a 25 degree beam to start, optional 45 degree lens available. The Opti 30 Tri comes with 21w total of tri-LED. It is a much smaller foot print then the Opti RGB. It comes with a 10 degree beam to start and optional 25 degree lens. Both have all the functions you are looking for in a fixture.

Well, if they hold their own against regular 500-watt Par64's, then both are viable options. In know a "which one is better" is a subjective and relative thing. I guess the bigger question is "what is the typical beam angle of a Par64" compared to the same beam from the ADJ 64 LED Pro. So, I have some research to do. It does appear that, without doing any research, the Opti RGB would be the better choice due to the spread. With 25-degree angle, I can cover the entire stage with 4 lights from...

Re: Looking for Par64 Replacements, sort of

Well, the Opti RGB would probably be closer to a 300w Par 56 lamp. As for beam sizes of Par 64 lamps, they are roughly as follows: VN: 12 Degree N: 14 Degree M: 24 Degree W: 50 Degree Keep in mind they are rough numbers. Also remember that Medium and Wide lenses spread in an oval, not a circle. Here is a Cheat Chart for Par 64s. Granted, it is for 1000w, but the dimensions are the same for a 500w lamp.

Those are ETC Source Four ParNels. Great fixtures, work like a Fresnel but are in a Par frame. Zoom range is 25-45 degrees. They also put out more light then a 1000w 6" Fresnel does with a 750w lamp, coming closer to a 2k 8". The beam isn't as soft and even as a Fresnel however. It also has less intensity do to the refractor then an 'equally' lensed S4 Par would. But since it puts out a circle and has a zoom, much easier to work with then Pars a lot of times.
