Re: Stage setter 8 & DMX LED panels
Hi Mike, The stage setter 8 is a straight forward controller channels 1-8 or channels 1-6 consecutivly. So the controller will always give you the same results. I think the best thing for you would be to contact Chauvet and see whats up with the Color Pallette.. It has some pretty complex channel assignments, and if you address them to 1 for simplicity sake they should do the same thing. For other channel or menu setting on the Color Palette you need to work with chauvet. Best regards,

Re: Dip Switch Calculator
This is provided the lights use binary, switch one=1, two=2, three=4, four=8, five=16, six=32, seven=64, eight=128, and nine=256. Some lights use there own 'odd' settings, like HES Trackspots for example. Both the settings for a Universal Controller and DMX are different from binary. Read your manual before you assume it is binary, or look on the back of the light by the dip switches. A lot of lights tell you what the 'code' is for their dip switches.

Re: Global Edit of Values for One Light + Right Click to Fade
There is a way to do fade/no fade using the Midi controller. You can either do it with the virtual controller on the screen, or have an external one. Unfortunately you cannot use a single button to turn the fade on and off with the virtual board, you will have to use 2 buttons, or one of the faders on the board. You can use one button for On/off using the external board because it will latch when you press the button. To set this up... 1. launch the midi controller on the screen. 2. If you...

Suspx, Make sure that both the Stage Setter 8 and the MIDI foot controller are on the same MIDI channel. Keep in mind that the MIDI indicator on the Stage Setter 8 will light up even though both devices are on different MIDI channels. Once the proper MIDI channels have been assigned, the Stage Setter 8 will respond to basic note on/note off commands. Here's how to assign the MIDI channel and the table used to send the proper notes. (This is posted on the manual). MIDI Settings: To change...

Rick, What channel is the DP-415 address to? If using sliders 5-8 then it should be set to dip switch 1 and 3 on. Also on the Scene Setter 24 you can change the output channel for each slider. Have any of the sliders been changed to control different channels? If so, you can reset them by holding the record button and tapping flash button 7 three times, while in record mode.

Now I get it. To get channel 5 i need to dip switch 1 and 3 which equals 5. DUH So if I add another DP-415 I need to dip switch 1 and 4 to equal 9. It's all starting to make sense now. Thanks again for your help Sergio

Ok... after reading through the forum (which is awesome) last night for a couple of hours I think I figured it out... 1. Set the first DP-415 to read channel 1 2. Set the second DP-415 to start reading at channel 5 3. Set the first group (Back wash) of Color Wash light to read channel 9 (Master/Slave mode) 4. Set the second group (Back lights) of Color Wash lights to read channel 13 (Also Master/Slave mode) Is this right? Am I even close?

Re: Operator 192 questions newbie...
I believe your issue is that each fixture on the 'Fixture' button represents 16 channels. Since you address the lights in numerical order, the 'Fixture' buttons won't line up. So fixture 1 is really channels 1-16. Fixture 2 is channels 17-32, then 3 is channels 33-48 and so on. Try setting your first group of lights to channel 1 making them Fixture 1. Then your second group of lights as channel 17 making them Fixture 2. Lastly, your last group of lights to channel 33 making them Fixture 3.

Re: Show designer 3
You should have no problem transferring to the new console and not have to rewire and readdress your fixtures. The extra universes are in case you need them, meaning more then 512 channels of lighting, or can make your life easier at times. For example, if you have lights at one side of the room and lights on the total opposite, instead of looping them all together, run one DMX line to one side and another to the opposite side to save on cable and stop possible issues that may arise. As for...

You know, I looked all over the place in the new user manual and could not find a disclosure. Past user manuals had this, and It should be in the current user manual. Please read carefully the following preventive measures carefully: 1. Place a DMX insulator between interface and DMX fixtures (e.g. DMX branch 4, Opto Branch 4) in order to protect them both from any interference and from overvoltage. 2. We advise you to have an available spare RS485 driver IC. This is an 8 pin electronic IC...

Re: DMX Operator MIDI channel
There are 16 MIDI Channels. In order for MIDI devices to be receive and/or send MIDI information properly, the device must have a MIDI "ID", or MIDI Channel, from 1 to 16. The reason is so you can "daisy chain' several MIDI devices and make sure each device is receving the proper MIDI information. Hope this helps.

Re: DMX Operator Pro and MIDI
Thanks John. I wish I could step up to the showdesigner, but at that point, I would just get the 1024FC and have the timeline ability. Basically, I am only running 8 channels of pars, 4 scanners, and 4-6 LED PARS's so both the software and the showdesigner 1 are way overkill for as little as I have. Plus, fundage is pretty low. So I guess we are back to the 3 questions: Can you select par scenes/chases independent to moving light scene/chases? Can they be selected this way with MIDI as well?

I've been asked to jump since I did a LOT of testing with MyDMX and MIDI and had documentable and repeatable results. Issue 1: Does MyDMX respond to MIDI triggers? Yes, it does. This has been resolved and in the latest version, you can use MIDI triggering, so we can just move forward from that. Issue 2: How easy is it to trigger MyDMX? Well, it really depends. Overall, the answer is yes, since most people are going to use MIDI NOTE ON commands for triggering scenes. Once a triggers are...

Hi Matchless.. I see a few things going on here. 1. check your page settings again. you say that fade option is checked on every scene. However this option is not found in Page settings. In Page settings you will find channels. Every channel has a Fade option. This fade option needs to be checked. What type of fixtures are you using? 2. I realize this is an old thread, but in talking with a pro lighting guy from Nashville last night, I've come to believe that both "tap" and "Elation_Pro" are incorrect about the Opto-Branch 4. 1. You CAN use the DMX Thru port to continue on to other DMX receivers, but standard DMX rules apply (no more than 32 devices on the line, terminate the last fixture on the link, etc). The splitter is just seen as a receiver on the line; nothing more or less. However, if something takes this line down,...

Mattrix, The T16F works a little different from the Dp-Dmx4B, so you'll need to assign each pack it's own address. The T16F uses 5 channels of DMX and is automaticaly assigned to channel 1 when placed in slave mode. Raising slider 1 to value 255 will allow you to have control of the 4 channels on the pack using sliders 2-5. The Dp-Dmx4B will need to start at channel 6 (dip switch 1,2 and 3 to the on position). You can assign the same address to the third dimmer pack and control them together...

You are correct. EXCEPT on the dmx op it is 16 channels. so scanner one addressed to 1 scanner two addressed to 17 and scanner 3 addressed to 33. basically each fixture button holds and controls 16 channels all the way up to 12 fixtures. so if you hit fixture button number one you will have control of those first 16 channels. fixture button 2 the next 16 channels and so on and so forth. make sense?
