Maybe try using a scene instead of a preset. If I recall, presets usually require you to select fixtures ahead of time before calling. Scenes will simply include whatever you put in the scene. It's been a while since I worked with this so I don't recall every detail. It should be in the instruction manual though.

You can have more than 16 fixtures as long as they will all fit into 512 DMX channels. Look at the multi-fixture section in the manual.

The instruction manual. I was going to comment, but felt its better for an elation rep to let them know which is right rather then my opinion. It says that then lens should be replaced every two years, but really it only needs to be replaced when it gets cloudy or breaks IMO. The manual is referring to the outer condensing lens, by the way, the one you can touch (but shouldn't) on the front of the head. Overall, you shouldn't need to replace any lens' on your power spot until it breaks. -Homeboy

Alright guys, I read throught the manual and could not find the lens replacement section. The last pages of the manual give a maintanane schedule saying that the outside optical lense should be cleaned monthly, but nothing about replacing lenses every two years. Help me out here. Hi Gary, Yes, the DMX operator has MIDI In. If you take a look at the user manual you can see which notes trigger which scenes. You cannot assign any note you want to any scene you want.. its pre assigned.

Ok I have added the 8 fixtures I think there may be a problem with the dmx protocol's the coemar manual shows them as a 13 channel fixture while the ssl file shows it as a 6 channel fixture?

Hi John, Thank you for your responses as well. 1. I tried what you said and made my chase a Scene using Easy Step. After that I was able to control the speed via the Live Button Toolbar. So, in other words, I did not need to do anything further using Easy Time. I tried it any way (yellow button making the channels Easy Time), but it just seemed to mess up my chase, so I went back to making all channels Easy Step. NO the one fixture is sitting on the floor facing the same direction as the other ones.I'm saying if i fix the problem in the center button it wont fix all the other buttons. This one light is out of sync with all the preset buttons.Yeah i read what the Rser message ment in the manual but i thought just maybe there is an easy fix for this rather then sending it in. i have alos just noticed that the unit has a 7 chanel DMX asignment sheet on line and the manual says it is six chanels How am i to know which i have ? This may help as the first chanel of the seven looks like it now addresses my issue

My units are 6 channels like the manual says. 1= red 2= green 3= blue 4= FX 5= strobe 6= dimmer .I have had them on an Avolites Pearl, a strand 550, a Elation Magic 260 , a dove systems IQ512 and a Baxter systems pocket console. I love the light and am using them on a bunch of shows but as far as the internal programs go they are not performing in a manor that is suitable of a professional quality unit. That just explains channel issues, not the strobing with internal programs and stand alone. The revision of the manual is from 12/06, and the 7 channel list is from 5/07, so the manual has yet to be updated for 7 channels or 6 channel lights are still being made/sold. What I stated is merely what was in black and white in front of me and what was sent with the product. It is also quite possible that PU lighting has an older, 6 channel version of the light and not the 7 channel. I know that...

welcome to the forums. now your lights are american dj so next time your gonna want to post over on their forum. but your controller we help you out with over here. umm actually u can turn the lamp off via dmx as far as unplugging goes who ever did the install should have made a switch or something to make it easier to turn the fixture off. esp. if the fixtures are permanetely installed on the celing. but since i guess that didn;t happen u your gonna have to unplug them cause there is no way...

I assigned the dimmer pack to A129 as stated in the manual. then i set the dimmer pack to work for only 2 channels. then i plugged in a par can light to channel 1 and another par can light into channel 2. as you said, the console should make the channel 2 light work on the next fader which is 130. but that's not whats happening. Fader 129 is turning on both of the lights, and fader 130 doesn't do anything. I know the next thing u guys might say is check what outlet im plugging the par can...

well looking at the manual its says u can select you scenes that u recorded and enter them in a "show" u can also add scenes on the fly but since you are new to this i wouldn't try it just yet. so yes make your scenes and then add them to a show. understand? all this is in the manual just go slow and follow it step by step. good luck! sincerely,

I have the printed manual that came with it, every page of it has at LEAST 10-15 missing characters, it's very frustrating. Mostly 'r' 'p' 'w' 'y' and 'n' I figured out my problem, settings were carrying over into other presets, but I figured it out

So i went out and bought the Compu 1024EC program, the programs is great, however i am having a little problem. My Focus Spots 250 move extremely slow. The Coemars are not as bright as they are suppose to be (they move good though). The manual doesn't give much help. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem. I have them set as 1,17,33,49,65> (thesse are the channels for the coemars) then the focus spot 250 continue as : 81,92,103,114. Am i seeting the channels wrong. Please help if you can.

Hi Danny, You need to pull out the user manual for the light. The fixture it self has settings..so to turn the lamp on as soon as power comes on is a feature called "Lamp on Automatically" The one fixture has this feature off, so you need to turn it on. Another feature is lamp on off by DMX.. its a feature that needs to be turned on. when this feature is turned on your Light Jockey button should work if its configured correctly best regards

The problem sounds like the chase is effecting the channels your strobe is on. You need to edit the chases so they only include the PAR channels. Not sure how to do it on the SS8. Look at your manual. If you still can't figure it out or you are confused, drop another line and I will try and help you out. A strobe isn't really an intelligent fix, just easier to control with an intelligent controller is all. Should see some of the crazy things I have to do. For example, I am running an all LED...

Re: A silly question about polarity on a Show Designer 1.
If you look at the showdesigner you have a picture of the pin with a half circle around it.. then a +2 on one side and a -1 on the other.. or something like that. Check out the Robo scan manual and make them match. I think since the Robo scan is old, they only put current fixtures on the SD1. You can use the modify fixture option to recreate a 7 chn. fixture and name it ROBO SCAN. Bset regards,

Ricky, Welcome to the forums! first let me say that is pretty much true you may never have to set them again. as long as the fixtures remember the address. i also urge you to take a look at the dmx chart for your lights and read up on the op 192 manual. as those two references are key to programming your lights the way you want too. on the op it is NOT hard at all to program a few scenes. let me know if you have any questions or if you are interested in a DVD on how to operate your DMX op...

Hi Joe, Your dimmers have 3 modes 1 channel mode.. all for channels are the same address 2 channel mode.. chan 1 controlls 1 & 2, ch 2 controls 3 & 4. so the pack is only 2 channels. then 4 channel mode.. this is the channel your looking for. breaks it up to 4 channels.. should be on the silk screen of the dimmer.. if not check the user manual. This is provided the lights use binary, switch one=1, two=2, three=4, four=8, five=16, six=32, seven=64, eight=128, and nine=256. Some lights use there own 'odd' settings, like HES Trackspots for example. Both the settings for a Universal Controller and DMX are different from binary. Read your manual before you assume it is binary, or look on the back of the light by the dip switches. A lot of lights tell you what the 'code' is for their dip switches.

Suspx, Make sure that both the Stage Setter 8 and the MIDI foot controller are on the same MIDI channel. Keep in mind that the MIDI indicator on the Stage Setter 8 will light up even though both devices are on different MIDI channels. Once the proper MIDI channels have been assigned, the Stage Setter 8 will respond to basic note on/note off commands. To me it looks like it takes any strobe that isn't DMX and makes it so you can control it via DMX. However, I am sure there are certain limits to what it can handle. For example, a 75w strobe might be fine, but a 250w strobe might be bad news. Don't know for sure without the manual and can't find any literature on it.
