Hey Ken, I did this exact procedure. Hold black to clear programmer, only move conventional levels, save to a scene, save to a playback in htp. But when I go to play back, all my intels clear out as if in LTP. Any other thoughts? Is this console even capable of operating like Im asking?

Hello Guys. I am a big Elation supporter. I own some of the Platinum Spot 5r Pro fixtures as well as the Platinum 5r Beam fixtures. I have a few videos of them in use on my Youtube page. One of my videos is actually a comparison of a Platinum Spot 5r pro vs. an Elation 575e. Just to be clear, just reloading the fixture file WON'T update the profile the light is using! You have select fixtures, change to a different light, select it and answer YES and then do it again but this time select the original fixture you started with. It seems the Magic 260 loads a new fixture file but until you assign it, you are still using the OLD profile values (assuming the fixture name is identical from the old and new profile). Re: DS 250 Focus Lens going brown
Sorry that was not clear the units have never had a lamp replaced and we are averaging ~ 950 hours on the total fixture hours. So the lens are burning out before the lamps. It actually makes me smile to say that the lens are burning out it sounds so absurd.

I don't doubt that it's easy. What I doubt is that the instructions on how to do it are clear and easy to find in the manual that accomanies the software. If it is there I would be grateful if you would point it out. My comment on the software not being very intuitive still stands. That said, you provide great and quick support and I thank you again.

Definitely understand that part, but as you search for the correct phasing (example - going from 3% to 97%), everything jerks around and goes crazy for a second until you find the sweet spot. I was hoping for a simple one click button to send it the opposite direction more smoothly. The reason being, I have a lot of switches for color chases, and movements for that matter, that go left and then another to match that one going right. Okay, I'm a little bit further. The Quad LED does seem to work properly when I set the DMX channels of both the program and the fixture to for example 3. However, when I touch the strobe, everything goes wrong again and I get the same as before. Also setting all the faders to zero or even hit the 'clear' button twice, doesn't solve it. I must remove the fixtures from the patch list and restart Emulation to get it right again. And that doesn't even work all the times. The Tri LED has the same...

Thanks for responding, that's what I'm looking for. On my Operator and OpPro I have 8 scenes readily accessible with buttons. Seems that a color or color combo could be chosen for each song and use that in the BANK settings, then I'd just change scenes during the song. Here's what I've got on paper. Re: SD2 show playback and moving lights
To record a scene with color only, you will have to clear the buffer first, then only select the color using a wheel or a preset. If you have the lights positioned, that will be part of the scene. Hold the black button to clear the buffer, select a color, then save the scene. You won't be able to see the color on the lights.

in the fixture group window are there buttons in the area marked "buttons". What this sounds like is someone was using live on the fly (The auto and rec buttons) but they were on the tab called embed inside the button. I have a couple steps for you to help clear up the connection issue between your CompuCue and Show.... first, reset your computer so no other programs are running and update to the current beta update of CompuShow http://dl.dropbox.com/u/898418...re/Compushowbeta.exe If this does not clear up the issue, try updating the firmware. Hello S&L the issue sounds like your Emulation builds are different. Verify that your version of emulation is the same on both computers. a saved show file should open correctly between both mac and pc. When you have a new version of Emulation and save the show, then open it with an other version (say on your PC) there will be issues because the new version has bugs fixed and updated profiles. So, your first step is to make sure your versions match...This should clear up the problems you...

Pat, The manual isn't particularly clear on this point. Give this a try: Set the DMX channel of all the Group 1 fixtures to 1, Group 2 to 17, Group 3 to 33 and Group 4 to 49. Now, assuming all the fixtures in each group are the same kind of fixture as the other fixtures in that group, you will be able to control each group as you would like. I re-read the instructions and, LO AND BEHOLD, discovered I was making two errors: Modifying Fixture channels that shouldn't be and not deselecting Fixtures after modifying them and before saving a Scene. Once I stopped this bad behavior I repeatedly succeeded in modifying Scenes and creating new ones from others. RTBM (that's Beautiful Manual!)

shouldnt be the case at all then, have you uninstalled and reinstalled the program? if not, uninstall the program...then delete the Compu Show folder on your C:drive..then reinstall it should clear that all up

Ok, so call me an idiot, but I do not want to to use the faders to control external dimmer packs. I want to directly fade a static scene. LM try to be perfectly clear. I select all my back line Thinline Pars. I make them all Red by turning up Slider 1. I save this as scene 1. Now, on playback, can I now select scene 1 and smoothly face it in and out with fader one? (If reassigned to control scene 1) Does this make sense?

Eddie, actually looking at your picture, you aren't trying to use these beam fixtures as a projection are you? The platinum beam 5R is an amazing aerial performer, the actual gobo output and image itself may not look good or crisp, but when in the air with fog or haze, it looks great! but if you look at the gobo on a wall and from even 40-50 feet away there will always be a hotspot from the gobo. you can try the frost filter to enable a softer looks to the beam but this will never clear up...

Totally makes sense. I could not find the projection distance in the manual. I unfortunately do not have 40 feet (maybe I do; still not enough) of test room to try it out on. These lights come with 11 different Gobos, too (which I don't have). Just not sure why they bother if you need 41+ feet. I really wish I had one to compare it against. I'm will to make the hike up there, meet some people, too. Let's do it.

Hi fslp1, the button on the back of the unit is a priming function and does actually output at about 150%, however it should be for priming only, it should never be used for more than a few seconds and not relied upon for actual machine usage for an event. hey there, I dont think that it depends on the laptop or any DMX limitations I got the same issue and can say a few things why I think that there is some code thats not ok. 1) I ran about 20 shows with the same (installed) setup, same laptop, same showfile, and with less than 32 fixtures (about 22 + 24ch dimmer and tour hazer) never got one single issue about freezing lagging or worse collapse. Vision scan 250 error codes
Hi all, I have 2 vision scan 250s. Both have one dead board. One is has a dead 250motor-01a and the other has a dead sc250pt-02. So I combined the working ones and everything works and turns on like normal then I start getting error codes 5-10. I have tried everything I can think of but nothing is working. release button not shutting down everything
When I start and stop playback buttons everything is fine. By fine, I mean when I release a playback my profile lights go to their home position and dim off. But then at some point when I hit a release button or release all, my main profile lights go to an on position that I had recorded a long time ago. sd3 midi input
I have the sd3 and got me a yahama ez-200 keyboard. thing is I have no clue what to do to get this to be used to trigger scenes. all the sd3 notes on midi and yamaha midi notes are really confusing.. Can't run Emulation cues more than once without re-launching software
I have a lighting program put together using the Emulation software with roughly 6 scenes with anywhere from 2 to 11 cues per scene. I'm finding that I can run through the scences once without any problems, but if I run through them again, some of the cues are not functioning properly. Some of the lights won't come on at all, or they come on in a pattern that was not programmed. When I shut down the program and open it again, all of the scenes are as they should be and everything works fine.

Firmware file?
So I have a 260 that started glitching and losing all it's programs, profiles. Connected Ulink and reloaded profiles.. programed some shows (4 hours worth) and turned it off only to have everything wiped again. While saving the thing is acting buggy wierd characters on the screen (all things discussed here in the forums before). Fixture reset issue
I have some generic moving heads that I made my own profile for. Every now and then during a show one of them falls out of position calibration. When I hit the reset button with that fixture selected in the software and then hit clear the fixture does reset, however the software stops controlling it after the reset and the light just sits at zero (not home). Moving Head Hanging Brackets?
I am wondering what the proper way to hang a Power 250 is? I currently have them hung with 2 mini clamps(weigh rated), but had to run the bolts through the top of the clamp, into the base, which makes it difficult to clear the pipe. I want to be able to hang these with clamps that have the bolt that threads up into the clamp, but I can't find a way. Is there a bracket for this? Thanks!

I'm having one issue though I have two scanners and a DMX strobe, and with my DMX scanner I would set like a straight spot up using a white color and with my next spot will set it up using a red color right by it. SD2 Factory Chases
This will be difficult to explain but I'll try: We just recieved a brand new Show Designer 2. I'm using the eight faders as sub-masters. Five of them are strobe light effects. Global Edit of Values for One Light + Right Click to Fade
Hi, Currently I am running 4 Design Spot 250s and an assortment of Elation LED fixtures on CompuLive 06. I often find myself getting to a gig and spending an hour or more adjusting the X/Y and Focus channels for EACH DS250 in EVERY (50+) scene using these lights. I adjust the X/Y so that when the beams hit the floor at THAT venue it hits the right performer. I adjust the Focus so that the gobo is clear (focused) at that [new] location. DMX Operator 192 WOES
Okay, question for the general public or whomever would like to respond (*cough* Jingles!) I'm still fighting the lack of fade time control on the 192. I've learned to accept the limitations, and program around it. Dear Friends, I am attempting to integrate a July 05 version of the Show Designer One to work with (4) Martin 812 Roboscans (Vector Mode/7 Chn). Audio Analysis lockups
I use the Audio analysis all the time on multiple PAR light channels and several Mega Strobes. It works fine when it is working. What I have found is that the Audio analysis app locks up at random times -- I can tell when it locks because all the PAR lights stay lit. Pan Limit on DS250
I am running CompuLive2006. I have scenes programmed into a PAGE named "Design Spot 250" that only control 4 DS250's. I also have scenes programmed into a PAGE named "Master" that control LED fixtures as well as the DS250's. When I go to create or edit a scene in the Master PAGE, the pan (x) channel for all 4 DS250's has the value "85" highlighted in green. Problem with Stage Setter-8 or DP-DMX 20L !?!?
The channel faders on the board aren't working. However, when I hit "full on" or a chase pattern, the lights come up. I did all the basic checks (crossfades, DMX cable switchout, etc). I'm not even clear whether the problem is with the dimmer or the board!?! I checked the external fuses on the dimmer and they all looked fine.
